وَ اِذَا قِیْلَ لَهُمُ اتَّبِعُوْا مَاۤ اَنْزَلَ اللّٰهُ قَالُوْا بَلْ نَتَّبِـعُ مَاۤ اَلْفَیْنَا عَلَیْهِ اٰبَآءَنَاؕ-اَوَ لَوْ كَانَ اٰبَآؤُهُمْ لَا یَعْقِلُوْنَ شَیْــٴًـا وَّ لَا یَهْتَدُوْنَ ( سورة البقرة 170 )
ترجمہ:
اور جب ان سے کہا جائے کہ اس کی پیروی کرو جو اللہ نے نازل کیا ہے تو کہتے ہیں( نہیں !) بلکہ ہم تواس کی پیروی کریں گے جس پر ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کو پایاہے ۔ کیا اگرچہ ان کے باپ دادا نہ کچھ عقل رکھتے ہوں نہ ہی وہ ہدایت یافتہ ہوں ؟
