The previous requirements included having at least 1,000 subscribers and either accumulating 4,000 watch hours in the past year or achieving 10 million Shorts views within the last 90 days. However, the new requirements have been lowered, allowing creators to monetize their channels with 500 subscribers, at least 3 public uploads in the last 90 days, and either 3,000 watch hours in the past year or 3 million Shorts views within the last 90 days. These changes aim to provide more opportunities for creators to earn revenue from their videos on the platform.
