K2 THE KILLER MOUNTAIN VIEW FROM CHINA
The view of K2, also known as the "Savage Mountain" due to its deadly reputation, is breathtaking from the Chinese side. K2 is the second-highest peak in the world at 8,611 meters (28,251 feet) and is located in the Karakoram range, straddling the border between Pakistan and China. From the Chinese side, particularly from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, K2 presents a less commonly seen but equally awe-inspiring view.
In contrast to the more famous view from Concordia in Pakistan, the Chinese view is more remote and accessible mainly to professional climbers and mountaineers. The rugged, snow-covered peak of K2 appears imposing, rising abruptly from the surrounding glaciers and rocky ridges. This view emphasizes K2's steep slopes, sharp ridgelines, and ice-clad face, which contribute to its reputation as one of the most technically challenging and dangerous mountains to climb.K2 Basecamp Trek Highlights
