K2 Bottle neck The most dangerous part of K2 for climber
The Bottleneck is a narrow couloir, which is overhung by seracs from the ice field east of the summit. The couloir is located only 400m below the summit. Due to the height of 8,200 m (26,900 ft), and the steepness of 50 to 60 degrees, this stretch is the most dangerous part of the route.

Despite all the dangers, the Bottleneck is still technically the easiest and the fastest route to the summit. Most climbers choose to use it to minimize time required to spend above 8,000 m (26,000 ft) (the "death zone").

The climbers approaching the Bottleneck start from a shoulder, on almost level ground just below 8000 m, where typically the highest camp is located. The bottom end of the couloir drops to the south face of the mountain, and it gradually steepens to 60 degrees just below the ice field. It is not possible to climb up the icefield, which rises straight up tens of metres, but one has to traverse leftwards at the bottom of the icefield 100 m (330 ft) until it is possible to pass the icefield.

Climbing alpine style over a period of five days at the start of June 2025, Czech mountaineers Radoslav Groh and Zdeněk Hák () completed the first ascent of the untouched southeast face of Hunza Peak. Kolouchava Klara, from Czech Republic Dies After Falling Into Deep Ravine During Nanga Parbat Expedition.

Gilgit: According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Diamer, Nizamuddin, the foreign woman climber fell from a height between Camp 1 and Camp 2.
The location where the woman fell will be traced, and after confirming the exact spot, a decision will be made on how to begin the recovery operation.
Those who were with the woman climber returned to Base Camp and reported her death.
ADC Nizamuddin stated that initially there were communication issues with the Base Camp, and early reports suggested the woman had died due to an oxygen cylinder explosion. However, it was later confirmed that she died after falling into a ravine.
The 47-year-old Czech woman, Kolouchava Klara, was part of a seven-member foreign expedition group.
