جون 2026 میں، Reuters کی رپورٹ کردہ Sensor Tower کے تخمینوں کے مطابق، ChatGPT ایپ نے ایک ارب ماہانہ فعال صارفین کا ہندسہ عبور کر لیا — جس سے یہ گوگل میپس، انسٹاگرام، ٹک ٹاک، یا یوٹیوب کی ابتدائی نشوونما سے بھی تیز، تاریخ کی سب سے تیز ایپ بن گئی۔ 6 اگست 2026 تک، خود OpenAI نے اعلان کیا کہ تقریباً ایک ارب لوگ ChatGPT استعمال کر رہے ہیں، ساتھ ہی GPT-5.6 ماڈل خاندان کے ساتھ بہتر حقائق کی درستگی والا ایک بڑا پلیٹ فارم اپ گریڈ بھی جاری کیا۔

موازنے کے طور پر: ChatGPT صرف نومبر 2022 میں لانچ ہوا تھا۔ انسٹاگرام کو ایک ارب صارفین تک پہنچنے میں تقریباً سات سال اور ٹک ٹاک کو تقریباً پانچ سال لگے — ChatGPT نے یہ چار سال سے بھی کم عرصے میں کر دکھایا، اور 2026 کے دوران دیگر AI اسسٹنٹس کے ساتھ سخت مقابلے کے باوجود تاریخ کی تیزی سے اپنائی جانے والی ٹیکنالوجیز میں سے ایک بن گیا۔

ٹرمپ نے یو ایس ایس ابراہم لنکن پر اہلکاروں کی ذہنی صحت سے متعلق خدشات مسترد کر دیے-

واشنگٹن: امریکی صدر ڈونلڈ ٹرمپ نے طیارہ بردار بحری جہاز یو ایس ایس ابراہم لنکن پر تعینات فوجی اہلکاروں کی رہائش، فلاح و بہبود اور ذہنی صحت سے متعلق سامنے آنے والی رپورٹس کو مسترد کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ جہاز پر موجود اہلِ خانہ اور عملہ موجودہ صورتحال پر تشویش کا شکار نہیں ہیں۔

وائٹ ہاؤس میں صحافیوں سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے ٹرمپ نے ان خبروں کو بھی رد کیا کہ ابراہم لنکن غیر معمولی طور پر طویل عرصے سے سمندر میں تعینات ہے۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ جہاز کی تعیناتی معمول کے دائرہ کار میں ہے اور اسے جلد ہی ایک دوسرے طیارہ بردار بحری جہاز سے تبدیل کر دیا جائے گا۔

صدر ٹرمپ نے کہا، “یہ جہاز اب یا بہت جلد واپس جا رہا ہے اور اس کی جگہ ایک اور طیارہ بردار بحری جہاز لے گا جو اسی نوعیت کی صلاحیتوں کا حامل ہوگا۔”

یہ بیان ایسے وقت میں سامنے آیا ہے جب امریکی میڈیا اور فوجی امور پر نظر رکھنے والے بعض اداروں نے رپورٹ کیا تھا کہ طویل تعیناتی کے باعث جہاز پر موجود اہلکاروں کو تھکن، ذہنی دباؤ اور رہائشی مشکلات کا سامنا ہے۔ بعض رپورٹس میں مبینہ خودکشی کی کوششوں کا بھی ذکر کیا گیا، جس کے بعد چند ڈیموکریٹ قانون سازوں نے تحقیقات کا مطالبہ کیا تھا۔

تاہم امریکی انتظامیہ نے ان خدشات کی شدت سے اتفاق نہیں کیا اور صدر ٹرمپ نے واضح کیا کہ اہلکاروں کے خاندان موجودہ حالات پر پریشان نہیں ہیں۔

نو ماہ سے خطے میں تعینات

یو ایس ایس ابراہم لنکن تقریباً نو ماہ قبل بحرالکاہل کے مشن پر روانہ ہوا تھا، تاہم فروری 2026 میں مشرقِ وسطیٰ میں بڑھتی کشیدگی کے بعد اسے خطے کی جانب منتقل کر دیا گیا۔ اس کے بعد سے یہ جہاز ایران، آبنائے ہرمز اور علاقائی سلامتی سے متعلق امریکی عسکری حکمتِ عملی کا مرکزی حصہ رہا ہے۔

کیوں اہم ہے؟

ابراہم لنکن سے متعلق بحث صرف ایک جنگی جہاز کی تعیناتی تک محدود نہیں۔ اس پر ہزاروں امریکی فوجی اور عملہ مہینوں سے خدمات انجام دے رہے ہیں۔ اسی لیے رہائشی حالات، ذہنی صحت اور طویل سمندری تعیناتی جیسے مسائل امریکی فوج اور کانگریس میں ایک اہم پالیسی موضوع بن چکے ہیں۔

موجودہ بحث یہ سوال بھی اٹھا رہی ہے کہ مشرقِ وسطیٰ میں جاری کشیدگی اور عسکری تعیناتیوں کا انسانی بوجھ ان فوجیوں اور ان کے خاندانوں پر کس حد تک پڑ رہا ہے جو طویل عرصے تک گھر سے دور خدمات انجام دیتے ہیں۔

Iran has called for the release of three Iranian pilots it said were captured by Qatar after two fighter jets were hit by air defences during a military operation at the start of the US-Iran war.

In a letter to the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Iran's Brig Gen Mohammad Bagherzadeh said the pilots - Javad Salehi, Abdul Majid Dashtian, and Imran Behroshian - had been held captive for six months.

He said the body of a fourth pilot, Majid Kazemi, was returned after he was killed in the same operation on 2 March 2026 - the third day of the war.

Qatar "categorically denied" Iran's claims and said it was "surprised by these misleading statements".

Gen Bagherzadeh said the three pilots had been captured by Qatar after they ejected from their jets during the combat mission on a Qatari military base.

In the letter to ICRC chief Mirjana Spoljaric, published by Iranian media, he accused Qatar of violating "the inalienable rights of these prisoners, contrary to all international laws and regulations".

Thirteen Years of Sky, One Massive File
This dataset took longer to build than most careers — and the numbers back that up.

Three ground-based surveys contributed the raw material: the Dark Energy Camera Legacy Survey (DECaLS), the Mayall z-band Legacy Survey (MzLS), and the Beijing-Arizona Sky Survey (BASS). Together they produced 263,407 telescope exposures over 13 years, supplemented by NASA's WISE satellite data and processed at the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC). The result covers roughly 75% of the sky in visible and near-infrared light, deliberately focused on regions where Milky Way dust doesn't block the view.
