The long wait is over!

We present to you Issue No.12 of the Horizon Magazine!

Publishing it under unprecedented times, for Batch 26 we hope this serves as the last farewell note to GIK Institute, the place we have called home for the past 4 years. For Batch 30, hopefully as an open guide for a fresh start, so that they can get a wider perspective on everything that sums up GIK Institute.

Thanks to the support of our dedicated followers and the tireless efforts of our team, the Scribes website is thriving and from what we have noticed, the content from our alumni is always well-received. We highly value the contributions from our alumni and expect to feature more pieces from our alumni in the future!

This one's been a long time coming and we finally have our next article up on our blog. We apologize it took a while but students had their midterms and 2020 is kind of apocalyse-y so we've had some minor setbacks (shameless excuses for just being lazy and procrastinating all day)

Anyhoo, this one should be familiar to most readers as it is a reflection on Mario Puzo's masterpiece 'The Godfather' by one of our writers.

After a long wait and the efforts of our team, we are ecstatic to announce that Scribes now has a presence on blogspot. This has been a long time coming since we wanted a medium to share full length articles that were written by GIK students to the public.
You can check out our blog, using the link given below. Moreover, students can send us their own articles, poetry or any writing in general to be reviewed by our team and possibly uploaded on the blog. This way, you have a platform to voice your own unique ideas and opinions with the general public. Founded by Talha bin Asad of Batch 22, Scribes is a student run writing team that is responsible for writing the GIKI official newsletter and the student created magazine ‘Horizon’. Scribes was initiated with a primary goal in mind which was to cater to the creative side of engineering students in the form of writing and to provide a platform for them to manifest it into something special. It is only fitting that the students provide a means of representation of our institute, other than the yearly prospectus which we, as students believe doesn’t do the institute justice from the students’ perspective. We at scribes believe that we are more than just engineers and should be represented as such.
