Forbidden Island (6270) is a Pirates series set released in 1989, consisting of 164 pieces and 4 minifigures.

The alternative model (Back B), called Caribbean Lock-Up Base, combines a jail with a small pirate base. On the right side, there are stairs that lead up to the crow’s nest, providing a good view of the waters surrounding the island. Next to the stairs, there’s a small pier that serves as both a platform for the cannon and an access point to the boat. You’ll also find a palm tree and a treasure chest here 🙂

Black Falcon’s Fortress (6074) is a Lego set from the Castle series that debuted in 1986 and consists of 404 pieces. The set was reissued as 10039 in 2002.

The model Back A (Black Falcon’s Gatehouse) is an interesting alternative to the original build. Unlike the original, it serves as a castle gate, featuring a black-and-green liftable gate, a watchtower with a steep black tiled roof, and several defensive positions located on the castle wall.

Although the weather is getting colder outside, BrickTown is already preparing for next year’s heatwaves and is ordering street sprinkler trucks. Our MOC consists of approximately 85 pieces and is designed in the Classic Town style, with minimal use of modern elements.

The vehicle features an orange and white color scheme. Water spray nozzles are located at the front, sides, and rear of the vehicle. Additionally, a pressure gauge is mounted on the back wall of the tank. The sprinkler truck is also equipped with a broom and a shovel.

Here is the Fire Control Center (6389). This fire station, released in 1990, consists of 507 pieces and four minifigures. The crew has three vehicles at their disposal: a heavy 6×6 fire truck, a compact off-road vehicle, and a helicopter.

The largest vehicle features a panoramic windshield for excellent visibility, a large water cannon, a water tank, and a retractable fire hose. Thanks to its all-wheel drive, it can reach even the most remote areas. The off-roader is the chief’s primary vehicle, but since it is equipped with a hose, it often acts as a support unit during firefighting operations. The helicopter is a light, compact build - perfect for coordinating actions from the air.

In our opinion, it’s one of the most interesting classic Lego Town sets from the 90s 🙂

Here is a commercial from 1987 promoting sets from the Lion Knights series. The main highlight of the ad is the King's Castle (6080), which was already a few years old at the time of broadcast. The set was released in 1984 and was the first castle to replace the classic yellow bricks with gray ones.

The castle features a hinged rear section, allowing access to the staircase and a prison cell located beneath one of the towers. A working drawbridge and a lowering portcullis add to the realism of the structure.

As we can see, the castle is under attack... Do you recognize who's behind it? ;)

Time to head into space with the Tri-Wheeled Tyrax (6851) set from 1991! This classic from the Blacktron II series takes us back to the era when the bad guys really had style. The set includes 39 pieces and one Blacktron pilot ready for any mission.

With its three large wheels, the vehicle looks fierce and futuristic - the black-and-white color scheme with neon green highlights is a true trademark of the Blacktron line. Add in the cockpit and antennas, and you’ve got the perfect machine for exploration and sabotage!

Blacktron was always the darker side of the Lego galaxy.

Some time ago, we showcased a MOC of a wine delivery vehicle for our BrickTown restaurants (link in the first comment). It was designed in a typical 1980s style. We decided to give it a bit of a modern update.

The vehicle consists of around 100 parts and now features a more contemporary cabin and new, wider wheels. We also chose to change its color scheme - instead of black, we used a new palette: reddish brown, tan, and white. We slightly reduced the cargo area - it now holds 6 barrels. Additionally, we added roll bars that make it easier to get in and help secure the cargo.

What do you think of it?

Diesel Daredevil (6669) is a set from 1991, built from 85 pieces and including one minifigure.

It features a sporty truck that, thanks to its strong engine and solid spoiler, holds the road with ease :) The bold color scheme - black with red and yellow accents - gives it plenty of character. The model also stands out with a unique exhaust system found only in a few, mostly racing-focused builds.

Meet the five projects chosen for the 9th round of the Bricklink Designer Program!

🔸 The Fisherman’s Village is a charming seaside build with a lighthouse, a small boat, a restaurant and a few cozy shops - a perfect set for anyone who loves nautical scenery.

🔸 Sleepy Dragon Inn invites you into a warm medieval tavern full of clever moving features, a hint of magic and plenty of atmosphere for fantasy fans.

🔸 Wild West Blacksmith brings classic Wild West vibes, complete with a working windmill and a detailed blacksmith’s workshop.

🔸 Woodbrick Freight Depot recreates an 1890s freight warehouse with lots of functional details, modular elements and a vintage truck to round out the scene.

🔸 Pumpkin Patch is a small, autumn-themed build that works great as a seasonal display or as a little extra for larger layouts.

Preorders open in October 2026, and the sets are planned to ship in March 2027.

The Forestmen’s River Fortress (6077) is part of the Castle series and was released in 1989 within the Forestmen subtheme. It consists of 333 pieces and includes six minifigures.

The main structure is a grey stone watchtower built over a lake. Cleverly hidden among the trees, it serves perfectly as a secret hideout for the Forestmen.

Here is a prototype base of an unknown faction, tentatively called “the grey-and-reds.” The concept dates back to 1989, but unfortunately it never received approval, so it was not developed further.

In the photo we can see a large base built on a 32×32 plate with a landing pad, accompanied by two 16×32 side plates. On them stand two elevated rooms topped with transparent red roofs. A spaceship and a small four-wheeled vehicle, both built in the same color scheme, are also part of the design.

It’s a project that was ahead of its time, featuring several newly introduced elements. It’s a shame it never made it into mass production, as it could have been an interesting addition to the existing Space universe collections.

What do you think this faction would have been called? Any ideas? 🙂
