Maklaud’s signature cast element is a fragment of a hypothetical interface – as if extracted from a virtual environment and materialized in metal. Its relief simultaneously evokes handcrafted work and traces of algorithmic assembly. Geometry and organic forms coexist here, strict logic and chaotic growth, like an object that came from a world for which we do not yet have precise terms.
