Richard Coldman Films

In August of this year, Richard Coldman Films was approached to produce a set of video animations of paintings by Casper David Friedrich as a backdrop to a dance performed to live music, taking into account the variable time-base that live musical performance demands. The challenge here was to produce projectable video animations of several paintings in the order of an hour's duration in less than 3 weeks!

The concept of the Production Triangle is an integral part of every serious filmmaker's learning process. The three points of the Triangle are Fast, Cheap and Good. It has been universally observed that in the real world of filmmaking, a movie production cannot possibly achieve more than two out of the Production Triangle's three points.

In Wanderer the production of the video was in this sense nothing short of miraculous ;-)

Click the link above to see this little film on Vimeo. It's my tribute to Father Dominik, now moved on to a different parish.
Back in 2022, he and his parishioners lovingly restored this 14th Century church in Lower Silesia.

Non-religious myself, I do appreciate people who contribute to their community with good heart, and this restoration was a genuine example of exactly that.

I've heard it said that the only complaint parishioners had of Father Dominik was that his sermons were too short. I'd view that as a quality than a shortcoming, but that's just me ;-)

This little film is my tribute to Father Dominik and his parishioners who have lovingly restored this 14th Century church in Lower Silesia. Unfortunately, the video won't currently play on Apple's Safari browser but it works fine on Firefox.
