POLISH OPERA NOW is a nonprofit creative platform for artistic collaboration in the classical music field. Opera is at a standstill, the coronavirus pandemic has forced cancellations, shut houses worldwide, and left thousands of artists unemployed. In order to alleviate this stress, we have started a global support campaign called POLISH OPERA NOW, initiating a collaboration between Polish opera singers and directors.
Our strategy is simple: a duo composed of a Polish opera singer and a director, regardless of his art field and nationality, creates a short video with the tools they have at their disposal, even if they find themselves on two separate continents. We are also opening our virtual space to all artists from the classical music field, by adding the possibility to cooperate with us as a Special Guest. Hopefully, this collaboration will provoke artists to develop their creativity in using new technologies and unexpected solutions.
We welcome videos that have an element of discovery and surprise given by extremely challenging and unusual production processes. Please note that our only criteria are authenticity, creativity, and innovation. Our wish is to redefine the way people see the classical opera world by hosting exceptional, powerful nano opera premiere productions made by both established and emerging artists.
