The cross has been recovered, but is still encased in earth.

Last month, archaeologists revealed they had found a gold necklace dating back to 630-670 AD, the Anglo-Saxon period, which they described as the richest of its type ever uncovered in Britain.

It consisted of at least 30 pendants and beads made of Roman coins, gold, garnets, glass and semi-precious stones.

Mola has named the findings the "Harpole Treasure".

Ann Reynolds, senior officer for the Rural Historic Environment at Cornwall Council, said: "Historic burials tend to appear every couple of years or so, but to have two sets of remains appear over two months is more unusual.

"It is clear that they have been there for some time and it is possible that they may be another shipwreck victim, lost many centuries ago and buried by the local population.

"The remains are better preserved than those found in November as they are encased in sand.

"Following excavation, we hope to be able to carry out some analysis of the age of the bones and find out a little bit about the person such as their place of origin.

The test rig is large - it has its own room adjoining a lab and looks at first glance like many other large motors, but beneath its metallic skin could lie game-changing technology.

Sensing a far-off volcanic eruption through an atmosphere-ocean interaction was unexpected, as was the detected cacophony of whale song and the explosive sinking of a cargo ship carrying some of the most luxurious cars money can buy.

An immediate analysis pointed to an "under-pressure" in the segment. Real-time flight tracking showed the rocket unable to maintain its planned trajectory.

The vehicle and its Pléiades Neo Earth observation satellites crashed down into the Atlantic.

The Dart mission slammed into egg-shaped Dimorphos to demonstrate how hazardous rocks posing a threat to the Earth could be deflected.

It was very successful, but even more so because the impact dug up a million kilograms of surface material.

When this shot out into space it boosted the momentum exchange.

Scientists working on the project have even been able to put a value on the effectiveness, a quantity they call "beta". It's 3.6.

In other words, the momentum Dart transferred to Dimorphos was 3.6 times greater than if the half-tonne spacecraft had simply been absorbed by the asteroid and produced no ejecta at all.

An Ariane rocket will lift the Meteosat-12 weather satellite into the sky to watch over the European continent, the Middle East and Africa.

It is the first spacecraft in a new, multi-billion-euro observing system.

Arguably this year's most important European space launch, it replaces technology now more than 20 years old.

When the tide is out, Errol Renaud can see seagrass meadows on the ocean floor from his coastal home on the Seychelles island of Mahe.

He's among many local people who have held up a hotel development that would have reclaimed the area.

"There's a lot of seagrass meadows here, and there's a lot of fishermen across this area who put their fish traps there. So they depend on this area," Mr Renaud says.

There are already two land reclamations near his home that have disturbed seagrasses that act as a barrier to rising ocean levels and extreme conditions.

The Hall of the first Kings of East Anglia was discovered in Rendlesham, Suffolk, over the summer.

Prof Christopher Scull said it was the "most extensive and materially wealthy settlement of its date known in England".

It was discovered by a community dig as part of Suffolk County Council's Rendlesham Revealed project.
