: On Sunday before the closing ceremony of the simulation, The Model European Union Warsaw 2019 held a press conference to address the "Digital Europe Programme" and the "Gas Directive Proposal".

From Brexit to cyber security, wide range of topics are covered in collaboration with the EU commissioners, the council and the members of the parliament including the Greens Party from Sweden, the ID from France and Italy and the EPP from Poland.

While the representative of the Greens claimed that the current amendments regarding to the trust policy in digital programme is sufficient for them for the moment, The Identity and Democracy Party (ID) representatives grew extremely defensive when they opened the floor for the questions.

An extreme tense exchange played out when a reporter from the Daily Express News asked the representatives about their strategy of considering the U.S. as an enemy in terms of cyber security of the E.U citizens. The racist insults,descending to the alarming level, was on familiar display during the conference.

WARSAW- Today in the parliament, the statements about the gas directive is presented. The parliament hosted an interesting debate where the Member States national interests' are dominated. The EPP supported this directive while the S&D underlined the cooperation regarding to the area of gas and pipelines while stating that Russia's monopoly on gas transport to the EU.

Greens from Sweden supported this directive by saying that the cooperations with the companies are significant and the nvironmental protection is important. They believe that an ecological disaster is possible.

The ECR believes that additional taxation is needed, solidarity is paramount and this directive denies it meaning that they do not support the directive.

According to ID, cooperating with Russia, security and dialogue makes sense.

According to RE, the North Stream 2 is a problematic issue. They expressed their fear of being dependent on one supplier only.

From the perspective of GUE/NGL, the liberalization of the gas market is a natural process and hasn't been solved for years. Gas is a stable source of energy and ordinary people need to be protected from politics.

In my opinion, the debate is interesting and complicated. An agreement can be a difficult point to reach. The issue of cooperation with Russia worths to be thought on. Honestly, we should talk about prices but also about gas exporters.

: WHOSE WORD WILL COUNT THE MOST?

Sixteen amendments were tabled regarding to the "Digital Europe Programme 2021-2027" today in the European Parliament.

Irrefutably, sparks flied since the parliament had drastically different ideas on the division of the budget that is planned to be provided for the mentioned regulation.

"We have never said that we do not have money; actually we have calculated every single aspect that we put on the table. All relevant statistics are taken into consideration."

"THE EU PARLIAMENT IS NOT MATURE ENOUGH TO SEE WHAT IS ACTUALLY GOING ON"

Debate flared up when the representative of ID France took the word in the name of the majority of the parliament.

"You treat us all as we are stupid and it is unacceptably insulting. We are the ones who are elected by the citizens of the European Union in order to shape their future; that's why maybe it is better for you to work better on your offer."

WARSAW- Council is ready to debate about gas directive.

Today, we got an opportunity to take part at the council meeting and had the chance of witnessing the debate about the gas directive. Ministers talked about the internal gas market, which is an important element in the context of this directive.

Member States found it difficult to reach a compromise. National interests came up as a prior topic. The debate was very interesting and difficult. The most active ones that appeared were Germany, Italy and Poland. There were many interesting arguments. The Council discussed about distribution solutions.

In my opinion the gaseous fuels sector is facing legislative changes. EU regulations and pressure from the European Commission make it necessary to quickly adopt new regulations. The implementation of the gas directive is intended to create the conditions in the member states to facilitate the entry of new entities into the gas market, to stimulate the development of competition and investments in energy infrastructure.In my opinion we need a legislation to regulate energy issues but we must remeber about national interests.

THE ULTIMATE SOLUTION: DIGITAL GLOBALIZATION

The Digital Single Market strategy, which aims to generate smart, sustainable and inclusive growth in Europe, has been considered as the ultimate way of staying competitive at world level; obviously, the commissioner is one of those optimists who sees that strategy as a boon to the well-rounded development of the European Union together with the regulations regarding to trade.

“It is impossible to stay only within the European Union borders; because we would be isolated if we do so.”

That was how the representative from the EU commission explained the designing process of the article four, regarding to the question that was directed by the leader of the Identity and Democracy (ID) party in the parliament.

“Most of the third countries have already indicated their interests in coming to the European Union”, the representative from the EU commission added.
From what we have heard, some provisions are already set for the non-EU countries.

Although the majority of the representatives in the parliament leant towards the mentioned regulation, they did not stand back from keeping the pot boiling during the the faction opening statements. Representative of the EPP Poland took the floor in the first place to indicate their wish to submit and to improve the proposal by remarking the huge potential of the rural areas right before the leader of the Greens Sweden gave a start to the concerns about the data privicy along with the idea of more environmental friendly regulation.

"ARE WE REALLY SURE THAT THE U.S. IS OUR FRIEND?”

The main course has changed thanks to the deep concerns of the leader of the ID France.

She clearly expressed her sympathy to the Eastern Europe countries which are conciously ignored in exchange for the support of the United States of America.

WARSAW (Daily Express News)- People from all across Europe gathered in the University of Warsaw/ Uniwersytet Warszawski on Thursday for the Model European Union Warsaw 2019 edition.

In the morning, the DDG gave a warm welcome speech for the MEPs and all other participants. Later on, after a couple of speech about the Faculty of Political Sience and International Studies at the University of Warsaw, she introduced the basics of the logistics guide before she left the floor to the coordinator of the logistics team.

What we have seen so for is that the team tends to keeping up with the Ursula von der Leyen's declaration regarding to her willingness for a gender-balanced atmosphere in the parliament.
