🇵🇱🌊⚠️ | The reading, taken at the Warszawa-Bulwary gauge station, broke a record set only a week earlier, when the river measured 98 centimetres. Jan Szymankiewicz, a hydrologist at the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management, said the milestone was unprecedented for the site.

"This can be called a historic measurement, since we began collecting this data in a standardised way, that is, since the 1950s", he said.

The drought's reach extends beyond the capital. Readings were also unusually low at Warszawa-Nadwilanówka, where the river measured 15 centimetres, and in Modlin, downstream, where it stood at 183 centimetres.

🇵🇱⛽🔝 | Poland has filled its natural gas storage facilities to 96% of capacity, the highest level anywhere in the European Union and far above the bloc's 67% average, according to data cited by Polish broadcaster RMF FM.

Could Poland eventually be called on to help supply gas to Germany or other neighbours, however?

The answer, for now, is not automatically. Having fuller storage tanks does not by itself create an obligation to share. An EU solidarity mechanism does exist, but it can only be activated in a genuine emergency — specifically, if a member state can no longer guarantee gas to protected users such as hospitals and schools, a threshold which has never been reached.

🇵🇱⛔🇮🇱 | The announcement came in a joint statement from Poland, Britain, France, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Spain, Ireland, Iceland, Norway, Portugal and Sweden, posted on the British Foreign Office's website.

The nations said they would impose national import restrictions on settlement goods and push for similar limits across the European Union, citing a rapidly deteriorating situation driven largely by settler violence.

🇪🇺🇵🇱🛡 | Der Spiegel reported Tuesday that Kremlin-backed operations are hitting Poland harder than most of its neighbours, part of a broader pattern of hybrid warfare rattling the alliance's eastern flank. The magazine posed the question directly: has Poland become "a laboratory for the war of the future"?

In analysing the trend which led it to such a conclusion, the magazine pointed to a May 2024 fire at a shopping center on Marywilska Street in Warsaw — which the magazine described as sabotage carried out on behalf of Russian intelligence — as the most striking example. It also pointed to a foiled November 2025 plot to blow up tracks on a strategically important rail line, an act Polish authorities have attributed to two Ukrainian nationals working for Russia.

🇵🇱📚 | Independent Russian news outlet Mediazona reported that in the city replaced a monument dedicated to Poles and Lithuanians who were sent to penal colonies in the region in repressions by the Russian Empire with a new one.

The former was built in 2002, and adorned with plaques naming four Polish scientists who studied the people of the region, as well as the victims of repressions in the XVIII, XIX and XX centuries. It was quietly disassembled in 2023, with a promise of a newer memorial to be built in its stead.

Instead, a monument dedicated to the fallen participants of the Russian invasion of Ukraine took its place.

🇺🇸🪖🇵🇱 | The signing ceremony at the Polish Army Museum in Warsaw was attended by the Minister of National Defence and Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domański, and the U.S. Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Thomas G. Dinanno, amongst others.

"All of this strengthens the defence potential of NATO’s eastern flank. Poland is a leader on NATO’s eastern flank, meeting all the expectations placed upon us as a European ally. Poland is at the forefront of Europe taking responsibility upon itself. We stand where Europe is most exposed, where the challenges are greatest — in the East. Our soldiers are present in Latvia, Romania, and Turkey. We are always there whenever allied support is needed," said Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the ceremony.

"Naturally, we will present several proposals to them. They will likely show us their proposals as well, and we will discuss the matter," he said, adding that "in any case, the Americans are very seriously interested because they see that we are interested as well. We are prepared to bear the costs of preparing these bases. It won't be easy, as we are talking about a sum in the range of ten to twenty — if not several tens of — billion zlotys, spread out over many years, of course.
