Never feel pressured to present yourself as a “perfect” father or mother to your children.
By nature, children already see their parents as superheroes their first love, first hug, first kiss, and their first source of strength after Allah.
If your child witnesses you doing something wrong, avoid making excuses just to appear flawless in their eyes. Instead, choose an appropriate moment to tell them honestly: “I need to stop this,” or “I will quit,” or even humbly ask them to pray for you to overcome it.
This approach preserves trust between you and your child a trust that is invaluable. Without it, children may begin seeking guidance from other “trusted” sources, which could be misleading or harmful, such as social media personalities, certain classmates, or other unreliable influences.
Remember: maintaining your child’s trust is one of the most important responsibilities you have as a parent.
