Before we went to Medellín, so many people tried to scare us with all the warnings.

Obviously we’re always careful wherever we go, and a local even told us to watch out with our fancy camera and not use it, lol, but the people we encountered were actually so incredibly friendly! On top of that, the street food blew us away and we absolutely loved us some arepas con carne.

We also did the iconic Comuna 13 tour, and it was just crazy to hear and see the transformation firsthand. It’s wild to think that a neighborhood that was once considered one of the most dangerous places in the world completely reinvented itself, turning its history into this beautiful, vibrant hub of street art and resilience.

Throwback to 2022 and Our final stop in Costa Rica was Jacó, and it was the perfect “one and done” beach town adventure on the west coast! 🇨🇷✨

We absolutely loved hiking El Miro—those stunning ocean views were unforgettable.

But the journey there was half the adventure! On the way, we braved Ficus la Raíz, a massive natural tree root bridge. Honestly? It was terrifying. 😅 Unless you are 100% confident with heights and super careful, I might suggest enjoying it from the ground!

We also made a quick pit stop at the famous Crocodile Bridge, which was so dope to see up close. 🐊

Happy Mother’s Day to the best wife in the world! Samson is blessed to have the best Mom! We are truly grateful for all that you do for us! Proverbs 18:22. We appreciate all the delicious home cooked meals, how you turn our house into a home, and all the humor and singing you bless us with. I couldn’t ask for a better helper in life, and Samson is blessed to have an amazing mother. A beautiful God fearing woman who lives out her feminine role that compliments my masculine role in life. Thank you for making life a much more enjoyable experience. Happy Mother’s Day my Love, we Love you! -Mark Robert and Samson

2022 started with a roar—literally. La Fortuna is nestled in a tropical “transition zone,” which is why we saw everything from lush rainforest greenery to the volcanic rock of Arenal. One minute we were hiking to the base of a 200-foot waterfall (my legs definitely felt those 500 steps back up!), and the next, we were floating in volcanic-heated pools. It’s a place where the adrenaline of a rope swing meets the total peace of the springs. A core memory for sure. 🐒🇨🇷.

Honestly it was too good to be true. We were so hyped on our new tandem paddleboard but the universe had other plans lol. It literally popped out of nowhere since it was part of that huge recall so that was the end of that. 🫠 Between the board giving out and finding a random dead fish which was so gross 🐟🤢 it was definitely an adventure.

But I mean look at these views though. The red rocks and the water made it all worth it. Probably time to get back out there soon just maybe with a board that stays inflated this time. 😂🌵

Throwback to the ultimate 2022 spring break! 🌴 This was the trip that officially caught us the travel bug and honestly we haven’t been the same since.

The highlight had to be our catamaran trip out of Honolulu. Being out on the water and snorkeling in that crystal blue ocean was pure magic.

We even explored the golden sands of Sunset Beach and the absolute paradise of Lanikai. It’s easy to see why they call it Lanikai because it literally translates to “heavenly sea” especially with those turquoise views of the twin Mokulua Islands.

The food was a dream especially our stop at the iconic Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck and ending the night at a luau was the perfect cherry on top. Taking it all in from Waikiki to the North Shore while driving around the island was just pure paradise. Take us back to this dream! 🌊✨

Proof that “traveling” doesn’t always require a passport or a boarding pass. ✈️🚫

Throwing it back to New Year’s Day 2022. We didn’t fly across the world to kick off the year; we just drove an hour out to Saguaro Lake. No complicated itineraries, no luggage… just us, the water, and a lot of intention.
We spent the day praying over the year ahead and talking through our biggest goals. It’s funny how a change of scenery, even if it’s just 45 miles from home, can totally clear your head and give you the space to dream.

Our goal as a couple has always been to show that adventure is everywhere. Whether we’re exploring a new country or just finding peace in our own backyard, it counts. Travel is about the experience.

Next stop: Telluride! 🍂 Living in the Phoenix area, we definitely don’t get a front-row seat to the seasons changing like this. Seeing the fall foliage here is always such an “awe” moment—the colors are just breathtaking! 🧡✨

We took some much-needed downtime from all the hiking to just admire the trees and wander through town.

One of the best parts was taking the gondola up to about 10,500 feet—it’s actually the only free public transportation of its kind in North America, and the 360-degree views of the San Juans are unreal. 🚠🏔️

It’s also wild to see how the Aspen trees turn that brilliant gold; since the elevation varies so much, the “peak” color actually cascades down the mountain in waves rather than happening all at once. 💛🍁

We ended the day at Trout Lake, and the views of the foliage paired with the mountains topped with snow were just gorgeous. ❄️🌲 It was the perfect way to soak it all in. 🚐💨

Reliving old memories in Colorado Springs for stop #5! This visit was incredibly nostalgic for Mark Robert, who spent three and a half years stationed there. He took the lead as tour guide, showing Rachel all the local landmarks and his favorite restaurants. While she loved seeing his old haunts, she respectfully declined the Manitou Incline—some heights are better left unscaled! ⛰️🍔

Stop #4 and honestly, our legs were feeling it. After days of hitting the trails, this half-day trek to Delicate Arch was a real test of our stamina! 🏃🏻‍♀️💨

The hike is about 3 miles round-trip and climbs 480 feet over steep sandstone slopes, so we were definitely winded and pushing through the fatigue. We were on a mission to beat the sunset, making sure to stay on the marked paths to protect the biological soil crust—that living, bumpy soil that prevents erosion—and we made it just in time!

Standing under the arch was absolutely surreal; it’s wild to think this park has over 2,000 documented natural stone arches, but seeing this one in person is just different. 🧡

The scale is mind-blowing at 46 feet high, and seeing it free-standing against the Utah sky makes you realize why it’s so iconic. Watching the light change over the red rocks was the perfect reward for every step of that climb. Exhausted? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely. 💯
