Multiband Delta Loop Antenna:
A multiband delta loop antenna uses a triangular loop of wire to transmit and receive radio signals efficiently. The total loop length is selected according to the operating frequency, so lower frequencies require a much larger loop while higher frequencies need a smaller one. The loop typically presents an impedance different from the standard 50 Ω transceiver system. A matching transformer or balun is therefore used to provide a better impedance transition and convert between the balanced antenna and unbalanced coaxial feed line. Air-core or ferrite-core transformer designs may be used depending on the required frequency range and power level. The table provides example loop and matching-section dimensions for several frequencies. In practical installations, these dimensions are starting values because wire type, height above ground, nearby objects, and feed-point position can shift the antenna impedance and resonant frequency. Final tuning with an antenna analyzer helps achieve the best SWR and performance.
