Christina’s mom was on the podcast in August (episode 34). They are a blessing of a family. Feliz quinceañera, Christina.

Today, February 27th, our Founder Christina would have turned 15 years old. Were Christina still with us, we would have been celebrating her quinceañera (the celebration of a girl’s 15th birt…

Season 4 is quickly approaching... hold tight for March 1st!

In the meantime, I was thinking of an episode to share for a , but none felt more appropriate than Sean’s.

Last week, one of the girls at Kay Mari passed away. Djoulie’s death has sent shock waves of grief quite literally around the world. There’s lots of wrestling about a life lost much too soon, a home full of children and those who raise them who have lost a sister and a child, and so much wondering if she had been in any other hospital in any other country... was it our systems of oppression in this world that are at fault? The community of Haiti180 hurts deeply.

Sean’s words tend to bring immense truth, whether he’s teasing about tarantulas on the roof of the orphanage or if he’s on a stage in front of thousands. And his message about not being a pretend missionary speaks differently and clearly to a period of grief and of hope that brings us close to the heart of Jesus. Jesus is tenderly abundant in Dulverge, Haiti.

Listen wherever you get podcasts or on grexly.com. I hope you find hope in the message, too.

Just popping on here to say that if you’re in need of a planner or some more mindfulness this year, one of our sponsorship codes from the fall is expiring on Jan 31st (next Sunday).

I have loved trying out the , and I’ve found it perfect for pandemic-living... rather than a strict calendar, it’s more about being present and using it on days that you need it (aka you write in the dates and have full control rather than skipping dates you don’t end up using).

Monk Manual says it best: It’s a quarterly planner inspired by monks and designed to help you live a fuller life. By combining best practices in psychology, productivity, and spiritual growth it provides a daily system upon which you can build an intentional daily life.

For 10% off, use the code “Heights” until January 31, 2021. I’m off to go grab another one ;) if nothing else, totally give them a follow for some cool and intentional content!!

Why do we have to portray Mama Mary as white, skinny, & size 00?!?

Ask yourself:
Does her thinness add to her beauty?
Does it add to her holiness?
Does it change her character or her grace?
Does it add to how well she raised the King of the Universe??

We don’t know exactly what she looked like, and that’s one of the beautiful mysteries of our faith. We can all picture her looking like ourselves, and our sacred art should reflect that. 💪🏻

Episode 42: 2.3 Million Americans Without A News Correspondent | The Prison Journalism Project

Olivia is joined by the two co-founders of the Prison Journalism Project , Yukari Kane and Shaheen Pasha. The project helps incarcerated and incarceration-impacted writers tell stories about their communities through their online publication, classes and workshops, and more. A common theme we talk about in this episode is that the 2.3 million incarcerated people in the US have no news correspondents, no body telling their story from the inside. And who better to tell that story then them.

Ep. 41: Wholistic Feminism: The Female Body as Good | Leah Jacobson, The Guiding Star Project

Leah Jacobson, founder of The Guiding Star Project, joins Olivia and cohost Ava Kelly to talk about "wholistic feminism," women's healthcare, and the overuse and misuse of birth control.

Hailing from central Minnesota, Leah has been working with young people and mothers since 2000. As a mother to seven children and an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, she has a special interest in supporting young women as they transition into becoming new mothers. Her passion for women’s health has led her to found The Guiding Star Project, a national non-profit organization with seven Guiding Star Centers in six states. Her work with Guiding Star is truly reframing the narrative about what it means to provide authentic women’s healthcare services in the United States. She hopes to someday see Guiding Star centers in every major US city, sharing a more wholistic and life- affirming message to all women about their beautiful natural feminine abilities.
