Former head of Israeli military intelligence, Aharon Haliva, has openly justified large-scale killings in Gaza, describing them as essential for Israel’s future.

Haliva stated that the death of 50,000 Palestinians would be “necessary for the coming generations,” adding that for every Israeli killed on October 7, fifty Palestinians should be killed in return—“regardless of whether they are children or not.”

He insisted his remarks were not about revenge but rather about sending what he called “a message to future generations,” saying Palestinians “from time to time need another Nakba in order to understand the price.”
