Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said Israel’s image in the United States has deteriorated sharply, arguing that the country has become a “negative brand” due to its own failures.

“If you ask an American student, ‘Israel, what comes to mind?’ They say genocide,” Bennett said, contrasting this association with Italy and “pasta, spaghetti.”

Amnesty International is asking again for information about the whereabouts of Palestinian journalists Nidal al-Wahidi and Haitham Abdel Wahid, who were arrested by Israeli occupation forces in October 2023.

The organization asked for the location of their detention and the reasons for their arrest to be revealed right away. They also asked that they be allowed to talk to their lawyers and that they be protected from torture and mistreatment.

It also called for their release unless criminal charges are brought against them and they are guaranteed a fair trial. It warned that the continued withholding of information regarding their fate raises fears that they may be subjected to enforced disappearance.
