“Oh no! More Americans. Let’s go help these guys!” 🤣
That was a joke from one of the American chaperones after their visit to Masjid Sri Sendayan.
They were not just a few visitors. A group of 23 young people from the United States, mostly in their 20s, came to learn and see how Muslims practise Islam.
One of them, Taylor from , said:
“I live in a desert in Arizona, so it’s difficult to see a mosque and Muslims.”
For them, this was a chance to learn about Islam directly from Muslims, not just from social media or the news.
During the visit, they asked many interesting questions:
“Is the and Islam the same?”
“Why do Muslim women wear hijab?”
“Why do Muslims remove their shoes inside the mosque?”
“How do know the direction of ?”
After the session, one of the chaperones thanked us:
“It’s very nice of you guys to come all the way from Kuala Lumpur and do this for us.”
Then he joked:
“You probably saw us and said, ‘Oh no! More Americans. Let’s go help these guys!’ 🤣”
I smiled and explained that we did not come because they were Americans.
We came because, as Muslims, we have a responsibility to share about Islam with kindness and wisdom with those who want to know.
Allah says:
“O mankind, We created you from a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another.”
(Surah Al-Hujurat 49:13)
Allah did not say so that we argue or hate each other.
He said: so that we may know one another.
Before leaving, one of them said:
“It’s really fun… and it’s nice for us to see Islam from the inside.”
That is our goal — to let people understand Islam from Muslims themselves, not only from what they hear or see from others.

No judgement.
Just a place to ask, learn, and understand each other.
Every sincere question deserves a sincere answer.
