Happy Tuesday everyone... I’m a little late posting today, but it’s been a busy day catching up on everything around the house from our long weekend with family. For the first time in several months, I had all of my family together. It was such a blessing to have my daughters, grandchildren, and sons-in-law all together with Bob and me this weekend.
We also celebrated May birthdays. I wanted to make sure I shared the delicious treat we had too - instead of a birthday cake, I went with cupcakes, and it was such a hit! I asked to come up with special decorations for the cupcakes, and once again, she delivered. You might remember the hydrangea-decorated cupcakes I’ve had for other special occasions. This time, I wanted a summer and red-white-blue theme. All I can say is that they were perfect!

Did you know that today is also Day of the Autonomous Region of the Azores.
Happy Day of Azores Everyone! Today is all about celebrating all nine islands and their people.
I have attached two pictures, one of the Azorean flag and the other is of the Azorean Crest.
Yes… we have a crest.
The words on the crest say “Antes Morrer Livres que em Paz Sujeitos” Translation: “Rather Die Free than be Peaceful Subjects “.

When a special friend goes to Madeira, and brings back such special gifts for me.
She knew exactly what to bring back for me too… especially from the Fabrica S. Antonio … The Bolachas from here are on another level!! If you ever see them in any Portuguese market… please pick them up!! They’ve been making them in Madeira since 1893, and they are delicious!! Then the famous Bolo de Mel aka Honey Cake along with the recipe so I can attempt to make it myself… I’ll be unwrapping it for this weekend so I can share it with my family.. It’s meant to be shared.
Last but not least a gorgeous tote bag so that I can bring with me when I do get to visit Madeira…

Dancing in Madeira!!
To make a long story short…because of my surgery I had to miss the Madeira trip I had been planning for a while. Even though I wasn’t able to join everyone, I was so happy to hear how much everyone loved everything…. I have so many pictures that were shared with me and with every photo and video I am so determined to visit Madeira. So for all of us that can’t make it to Madeira… here’s some dancing to enjoy!!
