After some nightmare delays at the pressing plant KPM, we finally have a firm date to distribute this bomb of a record.

After two much-sought-after releases from DJ Chupacabra, Carpet’s Steps series just had to come back with a third. ‘Finissage’ and ‘Subsonic’ on the A both live up to their steppy billing, the beats dipping and diving in and out of pads and samples that nod unashamedly to UK garage and dubstep. On the B, ‘Wooded’ is a new-school minimal groover for a housier crowd, while ‘Dranzer’ rounds things off with massive bass, R&B-esque samples and just enough of a pinch of acid.

Lisbon's Carpet & Snares returns with beguiling house from local favourite Luhk, renowned for his live and dynamic modular workouts. Here we get three tight variations on his elastic bumping house sound, plus a remix from fellow analog ju**ie Saudade. Both 'Jogar Em Casa' and 'Bom É Lá No Meio' (previously a Record Store Day exclusive) play with smokey jazz samples, the former's laidback irony contrasting with the latter's jauntier groove. Percolating synths and a lean, mean bassline on 'Reminiscencia Do Trance' will seamlessly propel any afterparty into the late morning hours. Finally, Saudade steers 'Jogar Em Casa' towards the fresh and organic live-feel of vintage Kalabrese.

Carpet & Snares Records in Lisbon continues its analogue series Circuits with a welcome return for Rawax alumnus Brother G. Each of the four tracks here has its own afternoon mood – the lazy, hazy, almost kick-less pastoralism of 'Stress Relief' contrasts with the wakeful buzzing of 'Give It A Try', whose steps and spirals in turn give way to slick and focussed microhouse on '10ml Bottle Please'.
