Alan Turing (1912–1954) was a British mathematician, logician, and computer scientist, widely regarded as the father of modern computing and artificial intelligence.

During World War II, he worked at Bletchley Park, where he led a team that helped crack the German Enigma code, a breakthrough that significantly shortened the war and saved millions of lives.

After the war, Turing designed one of the first models for a programmable computer and proposed the concept of the “Turing Test”, a way to determine if a machine can think like a human.

Despite his contributions, Turing was persecuted for being homosexual, which was illegal in Britain at the time. He was convicted in 1952 and subjected to chemical castration. Tragically, he died in 1954, likely by su***de.

Today, Alan Turing is celebrated as a pioneer of computer science and AI, and as a symbol of courage and injustice.

Aristides de Sousa Mendes was a Portuguese diplomat, born in 1885 and died in 1954, remembered as one of the great heroes of World War II. While serving as Consul of Portugal in Bordeaux, France, in 1940, he defied the orders of dictator António de Oliveira Salazar by issuing thousands of visas to Jewish refugees and other persecuted people, allowing them to escape the N**i invasion.

For his act of courage and humanity, Sousa Mendes was punished by the Portuguese government — dismissed from his position and left in poverty. However, his moral bravery saved over 30,000 lives, including around 10,000 Jews.

Today, he is honored worldwide as a symbol of compassion and conscience, recognized by Yad Vashem as one of the Righteous Among the Nations, and celebrated in Portugal as a national hero who chose justice over obedience.

It began in the early 20th century, when Jews established the State of Israel (1948) on land also claimed by Arab Palestinians.
Since then, there have been multiple wars, occupations, and failed peace efforts.
Today, Israel controls most of the territory; the West Bank is partly governed by the Palestinian Authority, and the Gaza Strip is ruled by Hamas, which remains in constant conflict with Israel.

Leonardo da Vinci was more than an artist — he was a whose mind bridged art, science, and imagination. Born in 1452 in Italy, he explored anatomy, engineering, mathematics, and nature with an insatiable curiosity that drove every masterpiece he created. His notebooks, filled with sketches of inventions centuries ahead of their time, reveal a mind constantly seeking to understand how the world works and how it might be improved.
