Fizemos vários upgrades à T-Rex, alguns visíveis por fora, outros nem tanto, para preparar melhor as próximas aventuras fora de estrada nas montanhas da Georgia, Kazakstan e restante Rota da Seda até à Mongólia!
Alguns destaques:
- 6 amortecedores novos,
- Sistema de travões completamente novo incluindo discos,
- Manutenção completa, incluindo troca da válvula EGR, alternador e conectores dos hidráulicos,
- instalação de conector Anderson de alto débito para carga mais eficiente do material Ecoflow (incluindo o A/C),
- Instalação de guincho de 12v com força de 8t,
- Novo suporte na traseira com guincho manual para pneu suplente, jerrican de 20L, placas de resgate e escada em alumínio,
- Instalação de 2 caixas de alumínio de 93L cada no lugar onde estava o pneu suplente,
- Instalação de compressor ARB com vaso de expansão e tomadas de ar na traseira e frente,
- nova bomba de água da habitação com instalação de vaso de expansão,
- instalação de novo sistema de filtragem de água para facilitar a aquisição de filtros de carvão compatíveis,
- Aquisição de 4 correntes para neve.

[PT] O Castelo de Drachenburg não tem uma história nobre como muitos outros castelos e palácios na Alemanha, mas é lindo e a sua história foi interessante o suficiente para chamar a nossa atenção e justificar uma visita.
O Schloss Drachenburg, como é chamado, é uma villa privada em estilo palácio, construída no final do século XIX. Foi concluída em apenas dois anos (1882 a 1884) na colina Drachenfels, em Königswinter, uma cidade alemã na margem direita do Reno, a sul da cidade de Bonn.
Foi encomendado por Stephan von Sarter, corretor da bolsa e banqueiro, após acumular fortuna no mercado bolsista e obter o título de Barão. Ele planeava morar lá, mas nunca o fez.
Após a morte de Stephan von Sarter, a villa trocou de mãos várias vezes, chegando a ser vendida à Frente Trabalhista Alemã em 1940, que ali fundou a escola Adolf Hi**er.
Atualmente a vila é propriedade da Fundação Estatal da Renânia do Norte-Vestfália e pode ser visitada pelo público.
À beira do Reno, um pouco ao norte, podem ver a cidade de Bonn, que será destacada na nossa próxima publicação, por isso não se esqueçam de nos seguir para não perderem 😉

[EN] Drachenburg Castle doesn’t have a noble history as many other castles and palaces in Germany, but it is beautiful and its story was interesting enough to get our attention and visit.
Schloss Drachenburg as it’s called, is a private villa styled as a palace and constructed in the late 19th century. It was completed in only two years (1882–84) on the Drachenfels hill in Königswinter, a German town on the east bank of the Rhine, south of the city of Bonn.
It was commissioned by Stephan von Sarter, a broker and banker, after amassing a fortune in the trade market and getting the title of Baron. He planned to live there, but never did.
After his death, the villa swapped hands multiple times, including being sold in 1940 to the German Labour Front who established the Adolf Hi**er school there.
Currently the villa is owned by the State Foundation of North Rhine-Westphalia and is visitable by the public.
Along the Rhine, slightly to the north you can see the city of Bonn, which will be featured on our next publication, so make sure you follow us, so you don’t miss it 😉

[PT] A Catedral de Worms é tão bonita que mereceu um artigo próprio na nossa página!
Chama-se Catedral de São Pedro e está localizada no ponto mais alto do centro da cidade de Worms.
A maior parte da catedral foi concluída em 1181, o coro oeste e a abóbada foram construídos no século XIII, o elaborado portal sul foi adicionado no século XIV e a cúpula central foi reconstruída.
Grandes eventos associados à catedral incluem a nomeação de Leão IX como Papa em 1048, a Concordata de Worms que encerrou a controvérsia da Investidura em 1122, o casamento do Imperador Frederico II com Isabel da Inglaterra em 1235 e a Dieta de Worms em 1521, período em que Martin Luther foi condenado como herege.

[EN] Worms Cathedral is so beautiful it deserved its own article on our page!
It’s called St Peter's Cathedral and is located on the highest point of the inner city of Worms.
Most of the cathedral was finished by 1181, however the west choir and the vaulting were built in the 13th century, the elaborate south portal was added in the 14th century, and the central dome has been rebuilt.
Great events associated with the cathedral include the nomination of Leo IX as Pope in 1048, the Concordat of Worms which ended the Investiture controversy in 1122, the marriage of Emperor Frederick II to Isabella of England in 1235 and the Diet of Worms in 1521, during which Martin Luther was condemned as a heretic.

[PT] Infelizmente nenhum dos nossos seguidores conseguiu adivinhar qual é a cidade que mais nos surpreendeu na região do Reno, mas como prometido hoje revelamos, é Worms!
Worms é uma cidade da Renânia-Palatinado, Alemanha, localizada na margem oeste do rio Reno, entre as cidades de Ludwigshafen e Mainz.
O nome de Worms é de origem celta: Borbetomagus que significa "povoação numa área com muita água". Este nome deu origem ao latim Vormatia, em uso desde o século VI.
Com fundação pré-romana, Worms é uma das cidades mais antigas do norte da Europa. Foi a capital do Reino dos Borgonheses no início do século V, daí ser palco das lendas medievais referentes a este período, nomeadamente a primeira parte do Nibelungenlied.
É impossível capturar toda a beleza de Worms num único post, mas acreditem, Worms é uma cidade linda que vale a pena visitar 😊

[EN] Unfortunately none of our followers was able to guess which was the city that surprised us the most in the Rhine region, but as promised today we reveal it, it’s Worms!
Worms is a city in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, located on the west bank of the River Rhine between the cities of Ludwigshafen and Mainz.
Worms' name is of Celtic origin: Borbetomagus meant "settlement in a watery area". This was eventually transformed into the Latin name Vormatia, in use since the 6th century.
With pre-Roman foundation, Worms is one of the oldest cities in northern Europe. It was the capital of the Kingdom of the Burgundians in the early fifth century, hence is the scene of the medieval legends referring to this period, notably the first part of the Nibelungenlied.
It’s impossible to capture the whole beauty of Worms on a single post, but trust us, Worms is a beautiful city well worth visiting 😊

[PT] Uma das razões pelas quais paramos em Mainz foi o Museu Gutenberg. É um dos museus mais antigos do mundo sobre a história da tipografia, localizado em frente à catedral de Mainz, na parte antiga da cidade.
O nome do museu é uma homenagem a Johannes Gutenberg, o inventor europeu da impressão com placas metálicas móveis.
As coleções incluem equipamentos de impressão e exemplos de materiais impressos de diversas culturas e é a coleção pública mais completa da Alemanha e uma das mais importantes do mundo. Contém placas de impressão que pertenceram a figuras famosas e infames como Charles Lindbergh, Albert Einstein, Charles Dickens, Franklin D. Roosevelt e Adolf Hi**er. Hoje a coleção conta com cerca de 100.000 placas de impressão.
Pudemos também ver uma das Bíblias de Gutenberg, a Bíblia de Shuckburgh em dois volumes, que fotografámos para partilhar com os nossos seguidores 😊
No próximo domingo partilharemos convosco uma cidade do Reno Romântico que foi uma surpresa maravilhosa para nós. Quem adivinha que cidade é?

[EN] One of the reasons we stopped at Mainz was the Gutenberg Museum. It’s one of the oldest museums of printing in the world, located opposite the cathedral in the old part of Mainz. It is named after Johannes Gutenberg, the inventor of printing from movable metal type in Western Europe. The collections include printing equipment and examples of printed materials from many cultures.
The museum's collection of bookplates is the most comprehensive public collection of Germany and one of the most important worldwide. It contains bookplates that belonged to such famous and infamous figures as Charles Lindbergh, Albert Einstein, Charles Dickens, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Adolf Hi**er. Today the collection numbers around 100,000 bookplates.
We were also able to see one of the Gutenberg Bibles, the Shuckburgh Bible in two volumes, which we photographed to share with our followers 😊
Next Sunday we’ll share with you a city in the Romantic Rhine which was a wonderful surprise for us. Who can guess which city it is?

[PT] Mainz é uma cidade da Alemanha, capital do estado federal de Renânia-Palatinado e é a primeira que vamos partilhar da nossa visita à n9, a estrada que percorre o Reno Romântico😊Situa-se na margem esquerda do Reno, frente à confluência com o Meno.
No século I, a cidade de Mogontiacum foi ocupada pelo Império Romano, depois de batalhas com os povos germânicos residentes no local, sendo a capital da província romana da Germânia Superior. As construções romanas, como fortificações, aquedutos e obras de engenharia, estão preservadas até hoje. Naquela época a cidade era a base da Legio I Adiutrix e da Legio XXII Primigenia.
Nas nossas imagens podem apreciar a beleza da Catedral de Mainz, as suas duas praças principais e ainda uma parte das ruínas subterrâneas da antiga Mogontiacum.
Mainz é também uma das 3 povoações da Alemanha que contem um dos maiores cemitérios judeus, considerado património mundial pela UNESCO.

[EN] Mainz is a city in Germany, capital of the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate and is the first city we will share on our visit to n9, the road that runs along the Romantic Rhine😊
It’s located on the left bank of the Rhine, opposite the confluence with the Meno.
In the 1st century, the city of Mogontiacum was occupied by the Roman Empire, after battles with the Germanic peoples residing there, being the capital of the Roman province of Germania Superior. Roman constructions, such as fortifications, aqueducts and engineering works, are preserved to this day. At that time the city was the base of Legio I Adiutrix and Legio XXII Primigenia.
In our photos you can appreciate the beauty of Mainz Cathedral, the city’s two main squares and a part of the underground ruins of ancient Mogontiacum.
Mainz is also one of 3 towns in Germany that contain the largest Jewish cemeteries, considered a world heritage site by UNESCO.
