It comes as no surprise for someone who grew up in a small farm in Coimbra, Portugal and made his career in international hospitality in Spain, Brazil, UK and the US. Dedicated hotel manager and natural born story teller, Nelson loves small personal ambiences, which show that there was love and dedication put into, where one can experience a million different details all working together. He has w

orked in for most of his career at unique places with a great share of it being at Palacio Belmonte, where he personally oversees each guest’s stay, being more like a local friend who really knows the city well and will unbiasedly recommend the best that it has to offer. The travels he shares on his Blog, Facebook ,Twitter and Pinterest are mostly friend generated, as he feels that the best way to get to know a city is through an insider, who can share feelings and emotions about sites, food and people as passionately as he does about Lisbon. Neon flower shops, vintage bar signs, balconies draped in green, the Senyera in the wind, bubbles drifting past Gaudí’s towers.

A city best told in color, texture, and taste.

✨ Another week, another award ✨

It feels like Matosinhos is on a winning streak, with a new award every week lately!

🏆 This time in Tortosa, at the Terres Travel Festival, we brought home Gold for Tourism Products.

Sharing the stage with my good friend ( )Pedro Machado, Secretary of Tourism of Portugal, and Flavio Cruz made the night even more special with an All Star Portuguese lineup !

✨ What a night ✨

Tonight, in Fundão, our film “What do you believe in? (Matosinhos)” won 1st Prize - Best Tourism Destination (Cities) at the ART&TUR International Tourism Film Festival.

I had the honor of sharing the stage with Marta Laranja, Councillor for Tourism in Matosinhos , a reminder that this work is not just mine, but belongs to everyone who believes in the spirit, culture, and people of Matosinhos.

This award is extra special because it joins the other recognitions that this film has already received around the world:

Sometimes, the heart of a city is best seen through the lens of those who dare to dream for it, and for me, this has always been a dream project.

This isn’t just about politics. It’s about telling a story that feels human, hopeful, and true to the spirit of Matosinhos.

For the longest time, I’ve felt that political communication was stuck in the medieval ages — until now.
 Creating something fresh and meaningful for Luísa Salgueiro’s candidacy is more than work.

It’s purpose.

First time in Gerês ⛰️🌲

I discovered what it means to be completely immersed in raw, untamed nature : granite peaks, emerald waters, air so pure it almost startles you.

Since then, I’ve made it a ritual: every lake I find, I dive in.

Cold, clear, and alive….just like this place.
