NEW BOOK AND DVD RELEASE "Secrets and Mysteries of Christopher Columbus - A Secret Agent with a License to Kill"
Today for the anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Tordesilhas (the Treaty that divided the New Word between Portugal and Spain) we are happy to announce the long awaited release of the "Secrets and Mysteries of Christopher Columbus" Book and Documentary DVD set.
Authors Lorenzo Dave Horner (a maritime historian and underwater explorer) and Carlos Evaristo (an archeologist and researcher) who together with Paul Perry are founders of the Cristovao Colom Royal Institute of the R.A.H.A. (the Royal Association for History and Archeology) take you on a wondrous journey through a book and documentary in the company of the current Head of the Portuguese Royal House, Dom Duarte, the Duke of Bragança and Duke of Beja and dozens of other experts and descendants of Columbus, to re-examine and continue the ancient study of the Christopher Columbus Portuguese Birth Theory, officially reviewing and continuing the research of the late Augusto de Mascarenhas Barreto, Co-Founder of the Oureana Foundation's Medieval Restaurant Program that this year celebrates its 50th Anniversary.
Following the lead of earlier Authors such as Patrocinio Ribeiro (1927), Barreto discovered hundreds of facts that offered concrete evidence to reinforce the belief that Columbus actually was a bastard son of Portuguese royalty, of maternal Jewish ancestry, and that his birth name was probably Salvador Fernandes Zarco. It was a study that inspired and set off many others in search of the real Columbus and which merits continuation...
This fascinating new book relates many more recently uncovered facts in a scholarly, yet easy to understand narrative also analyzing the various Columbus origin theories that have been put forward. It thus complements and expands coincidences and the long-awaited DNA results, as explained by Professor José Lorente Acosta in the book and also in the documentary DVD Directed by Paul Perry.
The Author's own investigations conclude that although Christopher Columbus was a most important character in the negotiating of the Treaty of Tordesilhas, few people in the World today are aware of the fact that this person we have come to know and admire, supposedly from Genoa, Italy, actually is a Myth fabricated by the 19th Century contributions of a popular American author (Washington Irving), an Italian King of Spain (Amadeo I), an Irish Priest (Father Michael J. Mc Givney) and the New York Mob. In reality, this new study confirms that very few ‘facts’ from the so-called "official Columbus history" are true of the man who is credited with having discovered the Americas in 1492. But was he the first Explorer to have arrived in North America or was he and others, like Pedro Álvares Cabral, purposely sent to "officially" rediscover lands previously discovered and revealed in the light of more favorable treaties?
The Authors confirm that the little we do know regarding the life and mission of the first Admiral of the Indies, reaches us from surviving letters, documents, and descriptions found in two biographies written by his son, Hernan Colon, Friar Bartolomeu de las Casas, and the transcripts of Court Records and Payments.
After dying in relative obscurity, with all of his rights denied, chained and confined to a monastery infirmary bed, with only a Portuguese Friar allowed to minister him, the man who brought outstanding wealth to Spain, subsequently was edited from contemporary history books, with all royalties, privileges and honors granted to him under Queen Isabel later revoked. This horrendous injustice moved the descendants of Columbus to file what became the longest known lawsuit against a government in history.
Although he did not find India as Columbus heralded, King D. João II helped him convince the Spanish Monarchs and the Spanish Pope that he had in fact done so and with this lie Portugal was able to renegotiate a new Treaty that allowed it to secure and officially announce not only the discovery of the Water Route to India and the East but also riches in Canada and Brazil, making Portugal the first Medieval Superpower. Now, as newly discovered evidence seems to confirm, it becomes evident that Portugal had already secretly discovered these lands before 1492, and was only able to keep them with the signing of the Treaty of Tordesillas.
The revelation of this fact no doubt branded Columbus as traitor beginning in 1500, the year of his fall from grace. After his death his body remained unburied for decades and his memory forgotten for centuries, until in the 19th century it was resurrected with a new story and alias so as to become a new character through the politically charged pen of a United States author backed by the governments and leaders of new and emerging nations seeking a father figure for their citizens.
Although Italy never officially recognized Columbus as Italian, a general consensus, based on fabricated facts and unconfirmed rumors culminated during a series of poorly attended conferences in the XIX Century, concurred that Columbus was indeed born in Genoa and died in Valladolid. Buildings were soon purchased and made to be landmarks at both sites with plaques erected testifying to these facts, although they were later exposed as frauds. And all of this was despite the official record of him being called Portuguese, moving to Spain from Portugal and marrying a Portuguese noblewoman, a ward of the Crown that he never could have wed if he actually had been a “foreigner and the son of wool shearers” as the "official" story goes. Its time to unravel the "Secrets and Mysteries of Christopher Columbus"...
