Sullivan seals hat-trick of wins - Andy Sullivan became the first man to win three European Tour events this season as he claimed a stunning wire-to-wire victory at the Portugal Masters.

O inglês Andy Sullivan venceu este domingo o Portugal Masters European Tour, tornando-se o 9º vencedor em outras tantas edições deste importante torneio português.
Andy liderou desde o primeiro momento, sempre com um agradável sorriso e uma fantástica atitude. Parabéns Andy.

SAN LORENZO NAMED ONE OF THE TOP 30 GΟLF COURSES IN CONTINENTAL EUROPE BY GΟLF WORLD

For the 25th year in a row, San Lorenzo Gοlf Course has been named one of the Top 100 Courses in Continental Europe. The ranking, awarded by the industry leading Gοlf World Magazine, further cements San Lorenzo’s position at the very pinnacle of European gοlf.

In the same list, San Lorenzo, which is owned and operated by JJW Hotels and Resorts, was also named one of the top 5 gοlf courses in Portugal.

Antonio Santos, San Lorenzo’s Director of Gοlf said: “It’s fantastic to receive this recognition. We’ve been winning plaudits at San Lorenzo since it opened in 1988 and every year it feels like we’re going from strength to strength.”

This is the latest in a long list of accolades achieved by the 18-hole Championship course, with publications such as US Gοlf Magazine and Gοlf Digest, consistently ranking San Lorenzo among the top 100 courses in the world. In addition, it has been named European Gοlf Course of the Year at the International Travel Awards, and in conjunction with the five-star Dona Filipa Hotel, was once voted European Gοlf Resort of the Year.

Algarve Golf League matchday 1 was held at Boavista Golf Club on the 11th January with all players enjoying sublime weather conditions. Due to late notification of the withdrawal of the Amendoeira Misfits team, together with no response from the Jolly Sailor team, we were forced to quickly adjust the fixture list. The results of each match are detailed on the attached sheet and, as you will see, the vast majority of matches were a close run affair with all games going to the 15th hole at least before being resolved. Although not recording a point, Charlie's Place had two of their matches going as far as the 17th before conclusion, proving how close the matchplay format can bring teams together. Performance of the day on this occasion came from the Algarve Eagles pairing of Eliasabeth Esterl & Neil Webb, who were 6 under par gross before the conclusion on the 15th green - testament to their opponents Helder Pinto & Fay Dixon-Kelly, who must have performed outstandingly, that the match went as far as that !!
