Sometimes I miss the words I grew up with. Simple, familiar words that carried the warmth of home.
Words like Akisa, Ogi, and Apoti.

These days, they’ve quietly been replaced by Rag, Pap, and Stool which are somehow colder and less personal.

Do you remember any words from your childhood that seem to have faded away?

We do not choose how we come.
We rarely choose how we go.
But we can choose how we prepare. 💌

After 136 marathons in 98 countries, I am working on a different kind of checklist which is called The Sealed Envelope.

The Sealed Envelope is not about death.
It’s about clarity.
It’s about peace.
It’s about legacy.

He started at 89 years old.He ran past 100 years old. Fauja Singh did not just run marathons, he ran through the limits we place on ourselves.

I never met him, but his story changed mine. Read my tribute in the

The tribute in is for him, and for anyone who thinks they are too old, too late, or too limited to start.

So today has been declared a work-free day in Nigeria to honor our late president, President Muhammad Buhari
Does anyone know of an actual plan in place to do that? A ceremony? A moment of silence? Anything?

Because in the absence of any national direction, I think I will just go and do my own thing. Maybe tackle some household chores, maybe hit the salon.
After all, if we are honoring him with free time, I might as well enjoy my free time.
How do you plan to spend your work free day?

Marathon Country #96: Tbilisi, Georgia
I slept in a jail, ran with barking dogs, missed my electrolytes—and somehow ran 45km just over 7 hours with fuel still in the tank!
From quirky Alcatraz Hostel check-in to a buzzing lakeside loop course, the Lisi Lake Marathon was full of surprises.
Best part? Getting Bib 96 for my 96th marathon country!
Would I run it again? Absolutely.

CHECKED IN… TO JAIL!
When in Tbilisi, why book a regular hostel when you can be handcuffed and thrown into a cell at check-in?
At Alcatraz Jail Hostel, you don’t just stay—you surrender! The Sheriff processed me in, made sure I had everything I needed (including where to change my money and where to find the best bakery in town), and welcomed me into my cell with a smile and a clang.

CHECKED OUT… FOR FREEDOM (and a marathon)!
Grateful to the Sheriff for releasing me just in time to run my 133rd marathon in my 96th country. Now that’s what I call time off for good behavior!

Would you check in here?

I went to Pattaya by chance… but I left with a changed perspective.

The destination was never the plan. But in the space between sunrise jogs and neon-lit nights, I found myself in a whirlwind of contrasts: beauty and boldness, sadness and survival, judgement and understanding.

Swipe through for a glimpse and read the full story of how a desired ferry sailing became one of the most enlightening detours of my journey.

Strapped into a helmet and walking on the ocean floor, I felt a surreal sense of freedom, like the world, above and below the surface, is truly my oyster.
