In recent years, the number of dolphins captured or killed has fallen well below the quota, while more advocates in Japan are speaking out and pushing for change.⁠

But the captive dolphin industry continues to give these hunts economic value. Ending the hunts means ending the demand for dolphins in captivity.⁠
