We are back with our Extended Mix series with a new legend in the making - Maki () !

Her PR text tells us that “a Maki set is energetic, broad and bass driven fun. With a constant and evolving presence of music throughout her life, many influences ended up combining in a fine taste for electronic music. Her sound is shaped by a deep curiosity for percussion, low-end weight, and genre-defying rhythms.“ TBH we never met her in person, but her amazing taste into bass music, breaks stuff and all kind of derivations on the sound system continuum made us want to connect and ask her for a mix! There’s not many people here in Portugal with an aesthetics that suits our own that well, so this request was a must! Being one of the young faces on the rise on the Portuguese scene, she has already stepped on most of major clubs and festivals. We truly believe in her taste and skills and want to promote her work as well as we can!

About this particular mix she says: “My music taste always gravitates towards percussive and heavy low end elements, which leaves room for a lot of exploration. So, for this mix I wanted to focus on new sounds I’ve been exploring in this realm, like texturised trippy breaks, batida and some dnb, but also, the ever present latin inspired 4x4 and some dubby sounds.”

Hope you guys enjoy the ride. For us Maki is one of the freshest people on the scene and we truly believe she will be able to make it! Dance floor fire on this one! 👀

And IT’S OUT! EXT043- Diogo - Paranóico !

Now that all of you are back from .pt you can pay attention to this one! Diogo, our current label boss is back to breaks with a full throttle “junglish” rave EP. Made of two tracks with booming 808s, acid lines, edgy breaks, rave stabs and sampled vocals from a Kuduro MC, this is a record only suited for high energy dance floors! These tracks are joined by two beautiful remixes from two emerging talents on the Portuguese scene, Mandacaru & Carolina Miragaia, which both turn them into more chilled and contemplative tunes, with a very unique and different sonic signatures!  The EP is OUT on our Bandcamp, and in some streaming platforms such as Apple Store and Tidal. NOT ON SPOTIFY or AMAZON MUSIC. We are removing all our music from there.

You all know , right? But do you know Mandacaru and Carolina Miragaia?  
is a DJ and producer based in Lisbon and one of the founders of collective. He’s also a schooled trumpeter, composer and musicologist currently doing a Phd at Nova University, researching topics related with electronic dance music. His sonic landscape has been driven by an ambient approach to the jungle genre - his latest release, Perfumes do Etéreo EP, evokes the lightness of the clouds in contrast with the rhythmical intricacies of breakbeat.

has roots in the Açores and is based in Almada. From her indie roots and her involvement with the indie-rock band “Vem Veneno”, to the creation of experimental videos on cassette, or even acting in cinema, she identifies as a multidisciplinary artist that founds in music her main form of expression. Her compositions exist somewhere between euphoric electronic dreams, with a pop touch and a deconstructed emotional feeling, which in turn can be perpetuated on the strings of a guitar, in a metamorphosing voice or in resonant water bubbles.

Both of them sign two AMAZING remix on Diogo’s EP “EXT043- Paranóico” that will be coming out on June 27th! Keep both eyes out for these two! The future of Portuguese electronic music will also be on them…

Já lá vão uns tempos desde a última vez que viram estes dois juntos na cabine. Gonçalo foi um dos fundadores da Extended Records,é presença assídua da noite do Porto e figura de proa do djing nacional. Diogo, com base em Lisboa, é o actual timoneiro tanto da Extended Records como da Discos Extendes e um dos seus artistas mais prolíferos, com disco novo já no horizonte. And it’s out! The new EP EXT042 - “Aasma” by Leese is finally out! You can find it on our Bandcamp both for sale and streaming, as in some selected streaming platforms.

Leese is a Brussels-based producer and DJ who’s been getting buzz for her sound - rooted in Bass Music and pulling percussive influences from breakbeat and organic percussion.

On “Aasma”, Leese delivers 3 intense tracks of fast broken beats, vocal samples and sprinkles of melody.

“Aziza” starts with a jackhammer-like rhythm over a half-step beat, before a wailing siren and Baile Funk vocals take over. “Sarma” has a more subdued and hypnotic feel that builds into a rush of trance-y synths. On “Astrakka”, Leese collaborates with Ravl to produce a 145 BPM banger, with heavy rolling kicks and metallic percussion.

Show her your love because she’s one of the most talented people out there but also a super super nice person!

Do you already know Leese? .e.se is a Brussels based electronic music producer. Her compositions deftly blend percussive and organic elements, evoking the depth of Bass Music while offering unique and danceable beats. With releases on labels such as YUKU, Maloca, traverse or Nehza Records, her music reflects a synthesis of diverse musical influences, spanning from underground electronic genres to more traditional styles, always which a sense of drama an cinematic experience. On May 23rd she will be releasing her new Asmaa EP with us. This is a three track EP with 3 original productions, that counts with the collaboration of RAVL on the closing one. Last weeks were CRAAAAZYY! First those hangouts with … That dude really is INSANELY GOOD! Great set and atmosphere at , and a super anticipated return to booth in Porto! Thank you both for your trust in our work and vision! Then there was Barcelona… That was SICK! Thank you to for having us, we really felt welcome there! All staff, booth and crowd were so perfect! We really hope to be back soon! Thank you also to , and .e.se for the amazing music! These ones will be on our minds for long!

BYE BYE SPOTIFY!

It is known that Spotify is one probably the worst streaming platform for independent labels and artists. Paying an average of 0,003€ to 0,005€ per stream, and refusing to pay royalties to artist whose tracks make less than 1000 streams (and saving millions on those), their whole model is set to crush the weaker. Unlike physical sales or downloads, which pay artists a fixed price per song or album sold, Spotify pays royalties based on the artist’s “market share”, which means they divide the number of streams and artist has on their songs per the total songs streamed on the service. Besides that, Spotify distributes 70% of its revenue to rights holders (not artists) and then they are free to distribute their share with the artists, based on their individual contracts. In February 2015, Music Business Worldwide reported on a French study between music trade body SNEP and EY that concluded that major labels kept 73% of Spotify Premium payouts, while writers/publishers received 16%, and artists received 11%. And beyond that, we know that only in 2024, Spotify declared about 1.14 billion Dollars in profit… As if all of this was not worrying enough, early this year they have hosted Donald Trump’s Inauguration Brunch and donated about 144.000$ to the ceremony…
