Hello bookaholics!! 📚📚
Following my previous post about all the things I look for in an audiobook that make the format truly special (if you’ve missed that post, just go to my profile and look a couple of posts back 😉), I bring you some audiobook recommendations 😊
All of these are books I really liked and would absolutely recommend on their own. Some are true favourites of mine, others didn’t quite get there. What do they all have in common? In all of them, I believe the audiobook format enhances the reading experience and adds something truly special and rewarding 💕
Narrated by the author:
- We Should All Be Feminists — an extraordinary little book and ultrafast read, the audiobook is only about 45 minutes long!
- This Is Going to Hurt — also a favourite (I even have a review up in my profile), and Adam Kay’s voice adds a level of rawness and pain that really resonated with me
- Milk & Honey — poetry is really meant to be recited, isn’t it?
- Born a Crime — again, memoirs are just better through the voice of the author
Narrated by a famous actor:
- The Jane Austen Society — Richard Armitage has one of the sexiest voices, and I’ll just fight anyone who disagrees 😂
Mixed media:
- A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series
- Sadie
Both in podcast format and featuring a full cast of voice actors, these are just better in audiobook 😊
Special effects:
- The Bad Beginning — the narration is accompanied by sound effects that bring the story to life for kids and adults who are kids at heart! Features a full cast
- Letters from Father Christmas — this is just a gem of a book, and the narration brings the North Pole to life!
I have more books I’d like to talk about, and I’m sure I’ll be adding some more to the list as I discover them, so this is a post I plan on revisiting in the future!
Let me know if you liked it and would like to see some more recs in the future! Also, if you have some recs for me, I’m always looking to expand my TBR 😜
