Para a instalação “Percebes”, Alexandra Ramires e Laura Gonçalves recuperam fragmentos do processo de pesquisa e criação que deu origem ao filme de animação, desenvolvido a partir de conversas e testemunhos de pessoas que habitam zonas turísticas do Barlavento Algarvio. Inspiradas por uma abordagem próxima da etnografia multissituada, as realizadoras acompanharam os percursos, contextos e transformações associados às percebes, cruzando memórias, experiências e paisagens marcadas pela relação com o mar. A instalação convida o público a revisitar lugares, personalidades e momentos reais que inspiraram o filme, aproximando-o dos desenhos, observações e vivências que estiveram na origem deste documentário animado.

[𝗘𝗡] For the installation “Percebes,” Alexandra Ramires and Laura Gonçalves recovered fragments of the research and creative process that gave life to the animated film, which was developed from conversations and testimonies of people living in tourist areas of the Western Algarve. Inspired by an approach closely related to multisituated ethnography, the filmmakers traced the paths, contexts, and transformations associated with “percebes”, weaving together memories, experiences, and landscapes shaped by the relationship with the sea. The installation invites the public to revisit the real places, people, and moments that inspired the film, bringing them closer to the drawings, observations, and experiences that formed the foundation of this animated documentary.

BAP BACKBONE | Anatomia e një kolektivi animacioni

Çka ndodh kur një grup autorësh vendosin t’i përkushtohen tërësisht animacionit? Si ndërtohet një kolektiv që jo vetëm mbijeton për më shumë se një dekadë, por rritet duke ruajtur shpirtin dhe bashkëpunimin?

⇢Në këtë prezantim, Vasco Sá do të ndajë historinë e BAP Animation Studio; një kolektiv që është bërë shtylla e shumë filmave të animuar evropianë. Do të flasë për fillimet, sfidat, sukseset, dhe për mënyrën se si ky organizëm i përbashkët funksionon: nga idetë deri te prodhimi.
Sá e ka ndarë rrugëtimin e tij krijues me David Doutel, me të cilin ka bashkë-drejtuar filma të njohur si The Shoemaker, Soot, Augur dhe Garrano. Tani janë në punë për filmin e tyre të gjatë UNA. Si bashkë-themelues i BAP dhe bashkëpunëtor i gjatë i “Bando à Parte”, Sá do të sjellë një pasqyrë të gjallë të një studioje që krijon, ndan e ëndërron në grup.💪🏼

“Percebes”, o filme de animação realizado por Alexandra Ramires e Laura Gonçalves, é uma das curtas-metragens nomeadas para os Emile Awards 2025, na categoria de Melhor Design de Personagens e Cenários. A cerimónia de entrega destes prémios terá lugar no domingo, 16 de novembro, durante o Festival de Cinema Black Nights, na Estónia.

[𝗘𝗡] “Percebes”, the animated film directed by Alexandra Ramires and Laura Gonçalves, is one of the short films nominees for the 2025 European Animation Awards, competing in the category for Best Character Design and Backgrounds. The award ceremony will take place on Sunday, November 16th, at the Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.

𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘀 𝗲𝗺 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗰̧𝗮̃𝗼 | Marta Reis Andrade

Destacamos a artista 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 e a sua obra “Cão Sozinho”. O filme parte de uma história real de abandono e solidão, cruzando a experiência pessoal da realizadora com temas como a perda, isolamento e afeto. A partir da memória de um cão deixado ao abandono após a morte da sua dona, a narrativa desloca-se da realidade doméstica para um espaço onírico, um campo onde a protagonista procura o animal de que todos falam, mas de que ninguém se aproxima. A instalação prolonga este universo sensorial e convida o público a assumir o percurso da personagem, guiado por uma componente sonora que transforma e condiciona a experiência do espaço. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗮 estudou realização na ESTC (Lisboa) e na FAMU (Praga), tendo aprofundado a sua formação em animação no Atelier de Sèvres (Paris) e no Royal College of Art (Londres). Atualmente integra a BAP – Animation Studios.

[𝗘𝗡] We present the artist 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 and her work “Dog Alone”. The film is based on a true story of abandonment and loneliness, intertwining the director’s personal experience with themes of loss, isolation, and affection. Drawing on the memory of a dog abandoned after the death of its owner, the narrative shifts from domestic reality to a dreamlike space — a field where the protagonist searches for the animal everyone talks about, but which no one approaches. The installation extends this sensory universe and invites the audience to follow the character’s journey, guided by a sound component that transforms and shapes the experience of the space. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗮 studied filmmaking at the ESTC (Lisbon) and at FAMU (Prague), furthering her training in animation at the Atelier de Sèvres (Paris) and at the Royal College of Art (London). She is currently a member of BAP – Animation Studios.
