The 26th Festa do Cinema Francês runs 02 October to 30 November in several Portuguese cities. The opening film is Nouvelle Vague by Richard Linklater, Cinema São Jorge, Lisboa, 9:30pm and Cinema Trindade, Porto, 9:30pm.

The 26th Festa do Cinema Francês include a retrospective, Alain Delon, a virtude do silêncio (Alain Delon, the virtue of silence) at Cinemateca Portuguesa-Museu do Cinema that features about 20 films including three of my all time favourite films, Jean-Pierre Melville, Le Samouraï (1967) and Luchino Visconti's Rocco e i suoi fratelli (1960) and Il Gattopardo (1963).

Among others, the Alain Delon retrospective also includes Plein soleil (1960), René Clément; em L’Éclisse (1962) a Zurlini em La prima notte di quiete (1972), both by Michelangelo Antonioni; Pour la peau d’un flic (1981), Jean-Pierre Melville; L’Insoumis (1964), Alain Cavalier; Girl in the Motorcycle (1968), Jack Cardiff; La Piscine (1968), Jacques Deray .
