The plague, the huge numbers and the damage.
Look for yourself what they do.
They clean the fallen apples from the apple tree.
There is no damage afterwards.
I call this pest control and ground work.
When they eat the old apples, they actually are taking control of future possible insects pests. Because they clear the fruits and the larves which will otherwise be in the tree next year and ruin the harvest.
They dig the ground, mix it with their p**p and organic leftovers which is fertilizing the ground and the tree.
They might rip off a branch which hangs low, which is actually the same as humans do with pruning, opening the area so sunlight goes every where.
I still did not see the damage the boars supposed to make.
When they roam my terrain, they clean more than apples, all the fruits trees get a visit. Around olive trees they dig at this period, so they ventilate the ground.
At the fig trees they do a huge cleanup as well. After their visit it is so clean, i have almost nothing to do.
Actually, i sit and watch them doing. We have an understanding, do not enter my vegetable yard and you are free to enter my terrain.
Plague? Huge numbers?
1 boar can dig a field, yes i know.
Ah, just something i listen lately. The boars steal ground. They shovel the ground and go away with it.
