The extraordinary paintwork of this McLaren 720S Spider by MSO is created from a stunning tri-blend of three paint tones, using a technique so sophisticated it took even our expert craftsmen 260 hours to apply it.
This paint blend technique is known as ‘Coriolis’ – a name inspired by atmospheric winds. MSO’s highly skilled team deployed it to showcase the airflow around the sculpted features of the 720S’s aerodynamically optimised body, uniquely fusing the way the car looks with the way it performs.
According to MSO Chief Designer Darryl Scriven, creating the paint scheme alone was ‘a collaborative journey which is as exciting as the car itself.’
In this evocative film Darryl – along with MSO Product Manager Arina Slyunkova and Colourist Darren Townsend – explain the technique, which is the perfect expression of how our bespoke division completes the McLaren journey from idea to design to ex*****on.
