A glimpse in the life of a founder mom
I got invited to speak at a high visibility event; I said yes
Then the logistics begin
😅We don’t have childcare this month;
😅The event time overlapped with nap time;
😅Zavi still nurses to sleep;
😅He’s teething so we wanted to minimize time away from mom (yay molars!🦷)
So we made it work
🤜🏾We put him to sleep in the driveway so we could leave as soon as he woke up
🤜🏾I whispered-rehearsed my talking points while sitting in the back seat with him
🤜🏾Matt got ready & then we switched, I chose an outfit that I could handle him in
🤜🏾I skipped straightening my hair & prioritized having his diaper bag ready
🤜🏾Got to the event, almost on time, husband & baby in tow
🤜🏾Dipped in & out of the auditorium, switched between mom & next-speaker mode
🤜🏾I apologized on stage for bringing the baby that cried in the background (luckily only for a few seconds, thanks to Matt)
🤜🏾We networked while feeding him
🤜🏾 We managed keeping him away from the elevator while dodging a tantrum (🛗 his latest obsession & newly learned word)
🤜🏾Did it all without any screen time
I crushed my talk & we ended the evening at a playground across the street where Zavi made a ton of friends
A solid win for both mom & founder Mariam
