Pi Network Ventures has made its first investment in OpenMind, a company developing an operating system and open-source protocol for robots to think, learn, and work together—like Android for robots. This investment aligns with the goals of Pi Network Ventures: capturing more production on Pi and creating more Pi utility. Additional collaboration with OpenMind includes the completion of a proof of concept project where Pi Node operators can opt in to run AI-training computations for third-party organizations. This explores a potential Pi platform-level utility on Pi Nodes. Overall, this investment connects blockchain, AI, and decentralized infrastructure to open new forms of utility, opportunity, and participation in Pi’s ecosystem.

Parallel to the Linux Node release, Pi Network is preparing a major upgrade — moving from Protocol Version 19 → 23.

The premise of selection is to be listed in the Mainnet Ecosystem Interface and compliant with developer ecosystem guidelines. This platform-level utility transforms the collective attention of Pi’s millions of Engaged Pioneers into a tangible and sustainable mechanism for supporting the Pi Apps and the ecosystem.

Pi Network is adding email-based two-factor authentication to the overall account management and verification. This change addresses challenges with current SMS (text message) account verification, improves security, and lays the groundwork for future verification methods like passkeys and biometrics. To ensure a secure shift, system level analytics and checks were required to validate how Pioneers verify their accounts using the new method, which led to a temporary pause in migrations. Migrations have now resumed and will gradually expand.
