Yesterday (February 12th) I joined 's Inside Story to provide an urgent update on the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza.
While media reports suggest aid is "technically being allowed in," I shared what people on the ground are actually experiencing at the crossings and distribution points.
🚨 THE AID CRISIS - WHAT'S REALLY HAPPENING:
Israel is blocking nearly everything needed for survival and recovery:
❌ Protein and meat products - completely blocked
❌ Life-saving UNICEF nutrition packs (RUTF) for malnourished children - DENIED
❌ Nutrient-dense foods with essential vitamins and minerals - not allowed
❌ Critical medications - blocked
❌ Heavy machinery to remove rubble and rebuild homes - prohibited
❌ Temporary housing (caravans) for displaced families - rejected
❌ Farming supplies (seeds, soil, fertilizers) - banned
✅ What IS allowed: Rice, bread, refined sugar products, carbohydrates
The strategy is clear: Allow just enough calories to prevent mass starvation headlines, but block everything needed for health, recovery, and rebuilding.
The result? Children suffering from severe malnutrition. Disease spreading through overcrowded camps. Families living in rubble with no way to rebuild. A population trapped in perpetual crisis by design.
🚨 THE PRISONER CRISIS:
Over 10,000 Palestinians remain imprisoned in Israel, many without any legal representation. Every few days, a handful are released - or their bodies are returned - with horrific stories of abuse and human rights violations.
This is systematic deprivation. This is manufactured desperation.
The world needs to see what's really happening.
