The Vietnamese Ambassador to Romania attends the 638th Anniversary Celebration of the Founding of Pitești (Capital of Arges Province, Romania)
PITEști, Romania – As part of the series of events commemorating the 638th anniversary of the founding of Pitești (May 20, 1388 – May 20, 2026), Ambassador Le Vinh Thang visited the city.
The Ambassador, along with city leaders, participated in a solemn flower-laying ceremony at the monument of King Mircea cel Bătrân – who signed the first decree establishing the city of Pitești in 1388; Ambassador Le Vinh Thang met and exchanged views with Mr. Cristian Gentea, Mayor of Pitești, and Mr. George Caval, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Argeș Province, on strengthening trade, investment, and labor cooperation between Pitești and Vietnamese localities, aiming to sign local-level cooperation agreements in the near future.
Located on the banks of the Argeș River, Pitești is an ancient yet dynamic city, the heart of the automotive industry with the "Dacia" brand, and a center for logistics, petrochemicals, chemicals, and energy in Romania.
On this occasion, Ambassador Le Vinh Thang attended the opening ceremony of the AFC Vietnamese Restaurant in Pitești. In an interview with Arges TV at the event, the Ambassador emphasized that the opening of the AFC restaurant is of practical significance, contributing to bringing the image of Vietnam, its people, and culture closer to the people of Pitești in particular and Romania in general.
