Between August 22–24, 2025, the village of Hosman in Sibiu County once again becomes the host of one of the most authentic experiences in Romania – the Holzstock Festival, joyfully reaching its eleventh edition. Held, as every year, in the fortified church of Hosman, Holzstock is more than a festival – it is a return to simplicity, to community, to a way of experiencing culture at a relaxed pace. In a landscape that seems taken from another time, the festival brings together independent artists, music lovers, locals and volunteers in a warm and friendly atmosphere in which the boundaries between the stage and the audience naturally fade.

We’ve all had moments when we thought how amazing it would be to live in the past, just to experience our favourite genres, bands, and artists live in their prime. And we assumed that such a thing was impossible, right?

On the 14th of July, on a beautiful summer day in Bucharest, I walked into the National Theatre and waited for the elevator that would take me to the rooftop for a concert by Luiza Zan & Jazzpar Trio. Every time I enter TNB I feel something special, like stepping through a portal to another era, but I never imagined that this concert would complete the experience so perfectly.

Summer Well Festival starts today, and besides great music, you’ll also get the chance to meet some of the biggest names in Romanian music.

With 30 years of experience in radio, Bogdan Șerban is one of the most recognizable voices on Romanian FM. Since 2004, he has been on the air at RADIO GUERRILLA, where he strives to support and promote alternative culture and music through his shows Avanpost RG cu Bogdan Serban and Guerrilive.

Before this edition of Summer Well, where he’ll be present as always, we talked to him about what makes the festival special and which Romanian bands he sees as potential future additions to the lineup.

On this day in 2016, a small new project appeared on social media. At that time, we couldn’t have imagined that 9 years later, we would still be here.

It all started after Colectiv, with the goal of promoting Romanian rock so that local bands could grow and perform on bigger and safer stages. This journey gave us the chance to meet and talk with some of the biggest names in the industry, while also watching small, talented bands rise from the underground to become new stars.

Our journey continues, and we will strive to overcome every obstacle, fatigue, burnout or health problems for this cause.

We want to give a big thank you to our followers, our partners, our readers, and to the people who contributed with articles and photos in the past years. You rock! 🤘🏻

On the weekend of July 11–12, 2025, the 13th edition of the most beloved rock festival on the banks of the Mureș River took place at Periam Port: Rock la Mures. With a lineup that blended established bands like Chaoseum and Macanache, and fresh names like Yvonne and Monokrom, this year’s edition also strengthened its presence in the electro/rap scene, gathering fans from all over the country and even from countries like Germany, Austria, Serbia and Hungary.

After its successful 2024 edition, Overground Music and the National Theatre Bucharest announce the return of Rooftop Season, the coolest open-air musical experience of the summer.

Bucharest-born and Peru-reborn indie rock band Guilty is making a highly anticipated return to their hometown for a special, one-night-only performance. On July 2, fans are invited to Club B52, located on Strada 11 Iunie 50, Bucharest, to experience the band’s distinctive blend of emotional anthems and electrifying energy live on stage.
