Empowering Sustainability: Love, Light, Romania's Sanctuary to Shine Brighter with New Solar Panel System

Love, Light, Romania is thrilled to announce a groundbreaking step towards a more sustainable future with the installation of a 13kW solar panel system at its flagship project, The Sanctuary. The project has been made possible through the unwavering support of various avenues, including Fundația Bricodepot, the Sibiu Marathon, and the incredible efforts of Torsten Jörges.

The Sanctuary has long been a beacon of hope for adults with disabilities, offering a safe and nurturing environment for their growth and development. With a commitment to fostering independence, self-sufficiency, and an improved quality of life, Love Light Romania is taking a significant stride towards a greener and more sustainable future.

Contributions from Fundația Bricodepot have been instrumental in making this initiative a reality. Their generous donation of 60,000 lei has been a cornerstone in driving the project forward. This
collaboration showcases the power of partnerships in driving positive change within the community.

Further bolstering the initiative, the Sibiu Marathon played a crucial role by raising 11,357 lei through the dedicated efforts of participants and supporters. The spirit of community engagement and determination behind this event perfectly aligns with Love Light Romania& #39;s ethos.

In a remarkable display of personal commitment, Torsten Jörges embarked on a 20-day sponsored walk, raising an additional 2,133 lei. His dedication symbolizes the extraordinary lengths people are willing to go to in support of the transformative work being done by Love Light Romania.

The installation of the 13kW solar panel system will not only reduce The Sanctuary& #39;s carbon footprint but also significantly lower operational costs, enabling the organization to allocate more resources towards its core mission – transforming lives.

"We are immensely grateful to our partners, donors, and supporters for making this endeavor possible," said Robert Rowe Director of Love Light Romania. "This solar panel system is not just a technological advancement; it's a powerful testament to the collective impact we can achieve when we come
together for a shared vision."

As Love Light Romania continues to create lasting change and hope for a brighter future, this solar initiative stands as a remarkable testament to the organization's commitment to sustainability and
making a positive impact on the lives it touches.

About Us

OZB stands for “O Zi Buna” which means “have a nice day” and it’s a charming phrase that’s heard throughout Romania and I sincerely hope that OZB can help you have a good day. OZB basically looks at Romania from the perspective of international people who live here, who have made their home here, who do business here or who have a significant connection with this fascinating and beautiful country. We hear how these people came to be here, what they do, how they have found being here, what they love, what they hate and we get their unique insights into this beguiling place.

We’re read, liked, shared, engaged with mostly be people from that community but also by Romanians interested in hearing about how their country is viewed and those who just appreciate quality writing and journalism.

The germ of the idea for OZB came back when I arrived in Bucharest in 2015 and when I noticed that, in contrast to other countries I’d been to in the past, there wasn’t a publication that was aimed specifically at the international “expat” community.

Finally in 2017 the first OZB magazine hit the streets and it ran thereafter as a monthly, glossy, lifestyle and cultural magazine that sought to “celebrate the best of Romania”. It was warmly and enthusiastically received by both readers and commercial partners who welcomed this opportunity to communicate with this particular demographic. It was an honour and a privilege to publish OZB each month and to work with the various people involved in its production. Alas, with the global pandemic, publication ceased in March ‘20 and since then we have been focused on online.
