Stii senzatia aia? Cand descoperi ceva care iti schimba complet felul in care asculti muzica. Asa a fost pentru mine cand am dat prima oara peste Massive Attack – Karmacoma pe MTV. Din momentul ala, s-a deschis o usa. Apoi au venit Portishead, Tricky — si brusc eram adanc in vibe-ul ala din '94-'95, sunetul Bristol.
M-a lovit rau — beat-uri intunecate, bass greu, voci care pareau ca vin din alta lume. Nu semana cu nimic din ce ascultasem pana atunci. Si nu s-a oprit acolo. Morcheeba, Sneaker Pimps, UNKLE, Lamb, Hooverphonic.. tot ce venea din UK in perioada aia suna perfect.
Trip-hop-ul si dub-ul din anii aia nu erau doar stiluri muzicale — erau o stare. Ca un film in slow motion, cu ploaie pe geam, fum de tigara si ganduri care se duc departe.
