Florin Ma**ca is a DJ, producer and promoter who played a key role in Romania’s underground music scene during the 1990s. He was a finalist in the Heineken Music Thirst competition and for over 15 years, he organized events that brought together local and international DJs, producers and solid live acts. Through these events, he consistently supported new artists, giving young talents a platform to play, grow, and get noticed.
Under the Selectro name, Marika built his own musical movement, blending local artists with international acts. The Selectro concept was showcased at the Sunwaves Music Festival (SW8 and SW10) and gained strong recognition, winning the “Best Concept for a Series of Parties in Romania” award at the Nights.ro Awards in 2010 and 2011.
Alongside this, his radio shows and work at Atomic TV helped shape an important chapter of Romania’s electronic music culture. In 2017, his DJ background and the Selectro brand expanded into a record label, releasing eclectic electronic music. In 2025, Selectro News was launched - a media project focused on interviews, reviews, and stories from the electronic and alternative music scene, highlighting his ongoing presence and contribution to the music community.
