📌 On 4 & 5 December, our Board member Klaus Meyer is representing us at the European Disability Forum „European Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025“ conference in Brussels.

At the invitation of the 🇪🇺 European Commission, numerous policymakers, disability rights organisations and stakeholders from the inclusion sector are meeting to discuss the implementation of the rights of persons with disabilities.

🧭 A central point of reference is the EU Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2021–2030: What progress has been made across its eight priority areas, which challenges remain, and what is planned for the years ahead?

✅ The debate makes it clear that significant structural gaps remain, particularly in the areas of independent living, accessibility, EU freedom of movement, and employment. There is broad consensus that advancing inclusion in Europe requires a targeted use of EU funding.

🤩 For us, the conference is an important opportunity to exchange perspectives, share best practices – and, above all, to send a joint signal for inclusion across Europe.

💡 Very soon, the European Commission will launch the Roadmap. 39 European and national organisations unite to share their vision for more integrated and inclusive forms of employment.

📘 In this joint statement, they present seven concrete standards to assess whether the Roadmap can truly deliver for all.

🤝 Their message is clear: quality employment is not only an economic objective, but a social contract, a shared responsibility to shape a fairer, more cohesive Europe where everyone can contribute and thrive with dignity.

🌍 International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Today serves as an important reminder of the need for inclusion, accessibility, and equal opportunities for all people with disabilities across Europe and beyond.

For Social Firms Europe CEFEC, this day strongly reflects the work we have been committed to since 1987. Our vision is a Europe where social enterprises and social cooperatives exist in every town and country-creating real, meaningful employment for individuals who face stigma, discrimination, and social or economic exclusion.

We believe that the right to work is fundamental, and that everyone should have the opportunity to participate fully in economic and social life.

💼 Through our network, we continue to:
✔ Promote the social enterprise model across Europe
✔ Influence policy to protect the right to work
✔ Support members with knowledge, resources, and collaboration
✔ Highlight best practices and vocational training
✔ Strengthen inclusive labour markets and social economy initiatives

📌 Between 28 June-02 July 2025 took place the 5th edition of the SFE CEFEC Academy event, in Mainz/Germany. With the help of Organizatia Institutul Bucovina and the Green Leaders project we recorded a series of Podcasts with the participants.

📣 So, we start by sharing with you the recording, with: 📌 Lusine Dostibegian from Georgia.

🤩 Lusine is 30 years old, she is working in a social enterprise called "Orbis Bude" which received a recognition certificate for the 2025 CEFEC Award & her motivation for participating in the Academy was 👉

"to acquire new knowledge and skills that can help me transform our social enterprise into a pioneering organization focused on environmental sustainability. I envision our social enterprise becoming a leader in Georgia, promoting and implementing green practices while fostering positive social change within our community. By learning more about eco-friendly strategies and methods, I hope to enhance our impact and contribute to a greener, more sustainable future for all."

We are happy to share some exciting news from SFE CEFEC!🤩
Our former WG 1 - International Cooperation has evolved into the WG - International Projects.

The first meeting took place on 19th of November, marking the beginning of a stronger, more coordinated approach to international project work within our network.

This new structure will strengthen collaboration, support members in developing partnerships, and improve access to EU funding opportunities.

✨ Together, we aim to run impactful projects focused on inclusion, sustainability, training, and social enterprise.
