CineLab SoundMix International Welcome to CineLab SoundMix's official international page! Here, you can get the latest new This allows the studios to be really multi-functional.

Our page intends to give you an overlook of our facilities, as well as to show you the projects that we've taken part in, while creating a contact bridge between you and us. Feel free to send us a message, should you have any requests for our services. Here's further information about the workflow in our facilities:
The audio, video and IT infrastructure of the studio complex provide high flexibil

ity and reliability. All audio and video data is stored on a redundant shared SAN system, which provides storing, accessing, and sharing media in collaborative workgroup environments. Thus, the time for the migration of projects from one studio to another is not wasted. High bandwidth and transparency of use allow a seamless workflow for all DAWs in the complex. The offline backup server provides additional safety of assets storage. Despite of the size difference, all rooms provide the same viewing and listening angles from mix position to screen. Well-controlled listening environment allows for nearly perfect mix translation from studio to studio. High-definition video projection and 5.1 audio monitoring is available as standard in each studio room. Advanced switching/routing capabilities are implemented all over the complex. For example, two consecutive pairs of editing rooms can serve as spare ADR suites, if needed. More options will be fulfilled when the Universal (Music Recording) studio is launched. A combination of VNC technology and flexible KVM matrix system enables instant access to any workstation and to any auxiliary PC of the complex from any workplace in the mixing theatres. A large server-based SFX library, including industry-standard Hollywood Edge and Sound Ideas collections, is available online at every DAW through a convenient ProTools-integrated interface. Every studio also features accurate climate control, adjustable working lights, comfortable chairs and cozy client's area, which makes work pleasing as well as productive.

"Dear Comrades", Andrey Konchalovskiy's latest film, is Russia's nominee for this year's Academy Awards. It was shot with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the charity foundation "Art, Science and Sport" and also the television channel "Russia 1". Both picture and sound work were done here at CineLab.
The film depicts the escalation of events during the peaceful protests that took place in Novocherkassk in 1962. "When producer Alisher Usmanov and I came up with this film we had our doubts: should we show today's viewers these tragic events, which happened almost sixty years ago? But, as we finished the film, we understood that it's absolutely fundamental, since this young generation needs to know its country's past.", Konchalovskiy noted.
The film has already received the Special Jury Prize at the Venice International Film Festival, reason for which we couldn't be prouder and happier.

The world-premiere of Andrey Konchalovskiy's newest film, "Sin", was held at the Rome International Film Festival, where it was screened as a special closing event for the festival.

The film is now gradually premiering all over the world.

"My film is not a meditation on the paintings of Michelangelo", the director stresses, "I absolutely did not intend to shoot a film about his works. My task was to portray a person from the Renaissance who was a genius artist, but who was likewise a regular person, with his own weaknesses, fears and flaws. In fact, I'm mostly interested not in Michelangelo's talent per se, but in the character itself and its relationship with that time period, so full of inspiration and beauty and yet so bloody and cruel."

The film’s sonic and visual work took place at CineLab.

Have you ever imagined what it would be like to live in the Soviet Union in the middle of the XX century? Well, now you can, thanks to the latest project we had the privilege to be a part of, courtesy of the producers at Marmot-Film. "The Frenchman" is a film about a french young man who comes to study in the USSR, in the 60's, and finds himself in a whirlwind of emotions and events, from the inevitable culture shock, to falling in love, to being asked to do intelligence work for the soviets. What could have eventually been a simple comedy movie, a drama or a thriller, ends up being a very well-constructed melange of all these genres, with surprising interpretations and a very distinctive storyline. This can be partially explained by director Andrey Smirnov's words, as he said "to me, the most important thing was to depict the formation of the generation of the 'Sixtiers', to which I belong". And it seems like he nailed it, as the film's authenticity and natural flow really do seem to bring us back in time. "Everywhere on set there were people working who were true masters of their craft", Smirnov continued. "When the crew was together, it was pure pleasure. To me, every shooting day was a celebration", he confessed, as he added that "there was always this feeling that we were not just filming something pointless just to make some money, but that we were really trying to create art. The crew passed this on to the actors and the actors to the crew."
The exact same thing can be said about the film's sound, the post-production of which was fully made at our studios. Oleg Tatarinov, our long-time friend and collaborator, famous for his powerful and punchy mixes, was the Sound Supervisor. He was, likewise, inspired by the filmmakers' intentions and surprised everyone by getting out of his comfort zone, delivering a clean, detailed and very expressive mix, as he helped set the tone for the final cut of this compelling story.
We have nothing but gratitude and joy for the opportunity to be part of such meaningful project, reason for which we thank Andrey, Oleg, Marmot-Film and everyone else involved in the making of it. Here's to genuine creativity, emotional journeys and the diversity of life!

If you've been following us for some time, now, you're probably aware of how we get a kick out of participating in war movies that have meaning and genuine significance in both Russian and world history. One of the latest releases of this genre is "Balkan Line", an action-packed war drama that portrays events in the rarely depicted Russian side of the Kosovo war. This Serbian-Russian co-production called our great friend and collaborator Alexander Kopeikin to Sound Supervise the whole picture at our studios. We had the chance to sit down with him and talk a bit about the process:
"When I start working on a new project, I've got to be interested in it, to begin with. The main focus is not to repeat myself while always breaking the rules.", said Kopeikin, who also provided Sound Design for the film. "The outcome of this film's soundscape was aggressive, dense, fat, loud and brutal.", he continued, as we asked him about what brings him back to CineLab over and over again. "I like the characteristics and specs of the studio, which match professional standards and work real smoothly.".
Alexander then teamed up with our own in-house engineer Kirill Bodrov for the Re-Recording process, to produce a one of a kind final mix, like he's already gotten us used to.
We can only thank him, Kirill and the producers for their trust in us to bring their vision to fruition.
Here's to truth and to always showing all sides of the (hi)story!

We can't get enough of World War II heroic stories, here at CineLab SoundMix, reason for which we were very happy to know that the producers at Mars Media had chosen us to deliver their newest project's sound. Based on true events, "T-34" is an action-packed roller coaster about a Russian tank crew that manages to escape captivity from the germans, fleeing away in a half-destroyed T-34 tank, a legendary war-machine which is still considered one of the most powerful tanks of all time, today.
Our great friend and collaborator, award-winning Sound Supervisor Alexey Samodelko, was on the front seat of this epic picture's sound, working day and night to deliver a mind boggling Dolby ATMOS mix, straight from our M1 Re-Recording Theatre.
As if that wasn't enough, we had composers Ivan Burlyaev and Vadim Maevskiy record live orchestral parts to some of their music cues for the film right here with us, at our Scoring Stage. The recording sessions were engineered by Aleksandr Mikhlin and our own in-house engineer Yakov Zakhvatkin, who also teamed up to mix it before transferring it to Samodelko, in M1, for the final mix.
We can only thank Mars Media, Alexey, Ivan, Vadim, Aleksandr, Yakov and everyone else involved in the making of this exciting film. Here's to never giving up and always believing in the future!

A film that will prolong your summer". Doesn't that sound like a great idea?
We thought so, too, so we were very compelled when the producers at "58,5 Production" showed us their intentions to do the full audio post-production of their new film with us. Our excitement grew to new heights, however, when we realised that the film would also be produced by Alexey Guskov, who you may know from such international hits like "The Concert", "Polina" and "The Ideal". In "The Eternal Life of Alexander Christoforov", Guskov plays a man whose life has gone on a long downward spiral which ends with the news that he's terminally ill. Strangely enough, this will be the beginning of an utterly surprising turn of events for him, as he discovers the wonders of life and… may or may not find the secret to eternity!
Speaking of eternity, we were filled with joy when we found out that the Sound Supervisor of this adventure would be our dear friend Rostislav Alimov and the Re-Recording Mixers the ever amazing Pavel Doreuli and Pavel Stasenko. We can confidently say that they did a job that will prolong your life, when you let yourself go with this captivating tale. Reason for which we thank them, Alexey, "58,5 Production" and everyone else who was involved in the making of this film.
Here's to fun stories, great times and, of course, a longer summer with lots of movies!

We're always looking out for unusual, impactful and bold projects, here at CineLab SoundMix, which was why we were very excited to receive award-winning director Alexey Vakhrushev's proposal to take on his new film's audio post-production. We were even more thrilled with it since the sound supervisors and re-recording mixers were our great friends and all-time collaborators Masha Ushenina and Sergei Ovcharenko. So while we expected a brilliant final mix, little did we know how stunned we would be with the picture we would see before us when we got to the re-recording mix theatre. Words can't really describe this extraordinary "animadoc", a documentary about the everyday survival of traditional arctic sea hunters of the Bering Strait (in the Far East of Russia), which blends breathtaking real-live shots of an unseen world with very original and heartwarming animated Inuit myths, that, at times, prevail reality.
Masha and Sergei have, once more, exceeded expectations with a crystal-clear, beautifully sculpted soundscape, reason for which we need to thank them, as well as Alexey, the producers at "High Latitudes LTD" and everyone else who participated in the making of this fantastic work.
Here's to unique filmmaking, unprecedented stories, unknown realities and the power of cinema to preserve them all together!

World War II has arguably had a greater impact in Russia than in any other country. No wonder that it's such a recurrent theme in film and arts, here, but what is surprising is how many new, untold stories are yet to be revealed. "Never say goodbye" is the emotive depiction of how the habitants of a small town to the north of Moscow faced the ruthless N**i army, which was trying to make its way into the capital. Director Pavel Drozdov and our friends at "Russian Film Group" chose us to take on the audio post-production of this ballad to the fearless and resilient. And who better than Masha Ushenina, one of the bravest sound supervisors in the business, to unfold the sound of this epic drama? That's why she also took charge of the re-recording mix, delivering a beautifully carved soundscape to the whole picture.
Thank you Pavel, Russian Film Group, Masha and everyone else involved. You can always count on us to remember those who, with their heroic efforts then, allow us to make art in peace today.

Kirill Serebrennikov is considered the enfant-terrible in Russian arts, today. Boris Voyt is one of the biggest rebels in film sound. Viktor Tsoy was one of the greatest revolutionaries in russian popular culture. And Hype Film are breaking boundaries with each new film they produce. Do you need any other reason to go watch this picture???
We were tremendously excited when our friend and longtime collaborator Voyt told us that russian film and theatre director Serebrennikov had teamed up with the producers at Hype Film to make a film about the legendary Tsoy, called "Summer". A film so unique that they had invited Boris to sound supervise and us to provide with all the audio post-production logistics. The result? Well, you'll have to see it (and hear it!) for yourself. This black-and-white biopic is making waves everywhere it goes, as it did recently in Cannes, where it entered the main competition of the festival and captured the Soundtrack Award. We can certainly assure you that Mr.Voyt and his team have delivered a sound as pristine as the image, so refined you'll feel like Viktor Tsoy himself is singing to your ears.
All we have left is to thank Kirill, Hype Film, Boris and everyone else involved in the making of this work of art. Here's to legends that have gone, legends that are here and legends in the making!

Here at CineLab SoundMix we're always looking to collaborate with ambitious new projects that try to expand the boundaries of how cinema (and its sound in particular) is made and perceived. Our latest bet in that regard is "A Rough Draft": the story of a man who wakes up, one day, to find out that no one he knew remembers him and that earth is nothing but a simplified version of a much more complex parallel reality, in a distant corner of the universe. We were very happy that director Sergey Mokritskiy and the producers at New People Film Company decided to work with us and sound supervisor Maksim Belovolov, who strived for nothing less than creating a sonic realm unheard of in commercial film.
We'd like to thank New People, Sergey, Maksim and everyone else who worked on this picture, as we look forward to more edgy and mind-bending ideas!

This year might just be the "directorial debut year" for the biggest russian superstars! This time we have internationally acclaimed actor Konstantin Khabenskiy taking on the helm of a powerful, nerve-wrecking picture about the only successful insurrection that took place in a prisoner camp during World-War II. "Sobibor" counts not only with Khabenskiy directing, but also in the starring role, alongside an international cast led by acting legend Christopher Lambert. Not enough reasons to watch? Well, what if we tell you that Khabenskiy and the producers at "Patriot" chose us for the entire audio post-production? What if we told you that they invited sound supervisor extraordinaire Oleg Petrenkin, who, in turn, brought in re-recording mixer giant Vincent Arnardi to craft a final sound mix that will keep you on the edge of your seat for nearly two hours? What if we tell you that they mixed it in Dolby ATMOS? That's right. A stellar team, creating stellar sound with stellar technology. What more can you ask for?
We can't ask for much more, but can only thank Konstantin, Patriot, Oleg, Vincent and everyone else involved in the making of this film. Here's to sonic rebellion and a bright future making compelling cinema!

Arguably the biggest superstar of his generation in Russia, actor Danila Kozlovsky has been a regular guest of ours at our ADR suites. He's now taken the plunge as a director, however, and we couldn't be happier that the producers at Kinoslovo and Danila himself chose us for the audio post-production of his first feature film. "Coach" tells the story of a man searching for redemption with himself, as he manages a small-town football team. As the FIFA World Cup 2018 approaches, this is definitely a good way to warm-up for the big event! And Danila surely felt that, since he called no other than our good friend and award-winning sound supervisor, Alexey Samodelko, to make sure the film's sonic experience would be as glorious as a hat-trick in the finals!
Thank you Danila, Kinoslovo, Alexey and everyone else involved in bringing this project home! Here's to the joy of sports and cinema together, as one!
