До выхода виниловой версии «Преображенской площади» от Noots остаётся совсем немного. На пластинке — четыре главных трека с LP и два ремикса, каждый из которых особенный для нас.

Один из них — «Mother Of Pearl Clouds» в интерпретации Nookie. Того самого Nookie, который стоял у истоков drum & bass в 90-х. Он взял нежную амбиентную вещь и сделал из неё что-то живое: текучее, глубокое и неостановимое.

The vinyl release of Noots’ «Preobrazhenskaya Ploshchad» is almost here. Four original tracks from the LP, plus two remixes — both close to our hearts.

One of them is «Mother Of Pearl Clouds» by Nookie. The Nookie who was there at the roots of drum & bass in the 90s. He took a gentle ambient piece and turned it into something alive: fluid, deep, unstoppable.

«Держитесь за поручни!» — Noots дебютирует на нашем лейбле с EP, где эмбиент, дип-хаус и отголоски джангла соседствуют без границ. Полевые записи — метро и гаражные джемы — придают абстрактным трекам живость. Отдельно выделяется ремикс на «Kovrov-1» и финальный ремикс от в духе шелковистого drum & bass.

Moscow’s newly emerging Noots makes his debut with an EP that dissolves genre boundaries. Ambient washes, deep house grooves, jungle echoes and experimental textures coexist in a fluid internal architecture. Field recordings, from the daily hum of Moscow’s Preobrazhenskaya Ploshchad metro to a friend’s impromptu garage session, weave seamlessly into the music to ground his often abstract compositions in the real world. There is beauty in the green synths of ‘Sudden Shift’ and a blurry psychedelic edge to the ambient pads of ‘Flowing Harmony’, while Edmondson’s hypnotic rework of ‘Kovrov-1’ adds a driving, textured dimension before a standout Nookie remix takes things into silky d&b territory.

We’re turning five with a superb two-part compilation, and this second half dives into deeper waters than the first. It comes from a mix of both longtime contributors and contemporary artists whose evolving sounds inspire the label’s direction today. Lars Behrenroth remix on Nutty Nys’s ‘The Promise’ kick off with a tender and vulnerable deep house sound and Christophe Salin’s gets more physical but no less gooey with its lush pads and rubbery kicks. Elsewhere, Thierry Tomas layers up lush r&b vocals and warming synth hues, Session Victim bring jazzy expression to his fulsome house grooves and Eloi’s ‘Take Your Time’ is a dusty closer laced up with lovely pianos. This is house for mature dance floors.

For our fifth anniversary, we present a two-part various artists compilation exploring the theme of duality. The first part kicks off with Jehan’s ‘Casino Aquatique’ which is a breezy and warm deep house jam with smooth vocals radiating soul. Scruscru then brings more funky drums and expressive disco melodies, and Shaka’s ‘That Spot Under The Sun’ is pure Mediterranean vibes. On the flip comes more blissfulness from I Gemin, a starry-eyed and melodic wonder from Laroye’s Cosmic Disco mix and Sunes’ late-night and romantic groove, ‘Don Fetti.’ Six tasteful sounds that ooze class.

Waves Within is a genre-blending triumph from Mexican producers Luca Ferrand and Selva in which they serve up sounds that evolve through deep house, broken beat, jazz, nu-disco and hip-hop. Opener ‘Bona Fide’ pairs dusty jazz and disco-house with a slick hip-hop switch and some superbly sunny melodies. ‘Zarapes (After the Rain)’ marries Mexican folk and broken beat, then ‘Back To That Thang’ twists jazz guitar into a genre-fluid ride and the title track evokes tropical 90s house. Closer ‘Lynx’ is a shapeshifting house cut with bulbous bass and sophisticated sound design that really brings it to life.
