BIO:
Marco Cassanelli is a deejay/producer from Trani, a beautiful town by the sea in Apulia (Southern Italy), in 2020 he is 40 years old and he still believe in music as a fundamental part of himself. He also owns a Gym where he works as personal trainer.
Marco started with DJing when he was13 years old, while playing tapes with an old cassette tape desk, he discovered vinyls and he learnt DJ techniques. then in the 90's, when a big clubbing scene was growing in Apulia, he started Djing at parties all over in night clubs and discotheques, as headliner guest or opening for the most famous Djs in the world.
Meanwhile Marco was becoming one of the most appreciated DJ in his district, he was collecting vintage drum machines, synthesizers and pedals with a strong idea in mind: to find the best dub techno sound and start producing his own music.
In 2013 Once he became skilled enough with music productions techniques, he moved forward and started producing his own vinyls. An impressive discography was being born...
He released 20 vinyls with several different labels in Europe (Vinyl Releases by eMBi Music / Star Dub / ROHS! / Tevol / Linear Movement / GabCat Records / Duo Records / Hashplant / Baile Musik / OVUNQVE / Chelsea Hotel Records), and he still doing more...
In the last few years modular synthsizers have become a big passion for Marco, the sound on his music is affected by tha analog sound of these powerfull and capricious machines and his approach to music has turned in live performance, recordings and productions now are the result of live sessions in studio.
In 2017 Marco is known for his innovative modular live set, and “ Deckard” the Art Director of Cavo Fest invited him to play a gig. They started an analog/modular live project called “PYRAMIDEN”
The two producers merge their backgrounds into a new musical project with harmonic and experimental techno sounds. The traits that in these years have characterized the productions of Cassanelli and Deckard are revived in the PYRAMIDEN project in which the artistic features of the two are preserved but projected into a mix that sounds completely new. A highly imaginative visual journey, nordic atmospheres, granitic energy, deep vibrations for visions of distant outposts.
They have realesed “Abandoned Town” EP 2019, their first album “PYRAMIDEN” 2019 and a new album is coming soon on september 2020. They have been touring in Italy and Europe 'till the stop due to COVID, they are gonna re start with live gigs ASAP.
MIX STORY:
In this suspended time, in this deserted city where no sound is being heard, an obscure podcast comes to life. Where physical communications breakdown, only the music find a path to the other people so we can reach each other while we stuck in our homes and studios playing electronic music trying to figure out how the next step will be.
Dubbing silence, breaking sounds, looping drums, screaming words, that's how we can take a breath! 'cause that's the time on we can't breathe...
