🎓 UNILAK NYANZA CHAPTER SET FOR 20TH GRADUATION CEREMONY

KIGALI, RWANDA — The University of Lay Adventists of Kigali (UNILAK) is set to host its 20th Academic Graduation Ceremony on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the UNILAK Nyanza Campus.

The ceremony is expected to bring together graduands, parents, invited guests, university officials, and dignitaries to celebrate the academic achievements of the graduating students.

According to the official agenda, graduands and parents are expected to arrive at 7:00 A.M., followed by invited guests at 8:30 A.M. and VIPs at 8:45 A.M. The official procession is scheduled for 9:00 A.M.

The ceremony will feature the official opening, speeches from university leadership and the Guest of Honor, as well as the conferment of degrees and presentation of awards.

KIGALI, RWANDA — The Progressive Students Alliance (PSA), through its Presidential and Vice Presidential Aspirants for the upcoming UNILAK Kigali elections, has clarified its relationship with Winston W. Cooper, Vice Chair for International Affairs (VCIA) of LIBCOR, while strongly denying claims that the party is being supported by the LIBCOR National Leadership.

Appearing on Pressure Conversation, the PSA candidates stated that they have no personal relationship with Winston W. Cooper and maintained that they are not receiving support from the national leadership of LIBCOR.

The candidates further rejected allegations made by their major opponent, Emmanuel T. Dickson, that PSA is being backed by LIBCOR leadership.

According to PSA, the party does not need the support of LIBCOR to win the election, arguing that it enjoys the trust and confidence of students at the University.

The PSA candidates also alleged that Team Dickson is making what they described as false and misleading claims because they believe their opponent is already anticipating defeat.

Meanwhile, Joemina Diamond Lewis, Vice Presidential Aspirant of PSA, urged Emmanuel T. Dickson to separate his personal disagreements with Winston W. Cooper from the election process.

She encouraged all candidates to focus on what she described as a legitimate, free and fair election, emphasizing that whoever emerges victorious should be allowed to lead the chapter.

Despite their political differences, both PSA candidates said they maintain a good relationship with Emmanuel T. Dickson personally, but disagree with his policies and leadership approach.

After Media Scrutiny, Sherman Releases Rwf 276,046 to Liberia Fan Base – Rwanda Chapter

KIGALI, Rwanda — September 19, 2026: McAnthony Tension Sherman has released Rwf 276,046 to the Liberia National Football Fan Base – Rwanda Chapter following growing public and media scrutiny over funds sent to support Liberians attending the Lone Star’s AFCON 2027 qualifier against Rwanda.

The money forms part of the Rwf 300,000 sent by Liberian activist Martin N. K. Kollie to support at least 50 Liberian students and young people with transportation and match-related expenses.
The fan base confirmed the release in a statement dated September 19, saying the funds will be used to assist students traveling from outside Kigali to attend the September 25 match at Amahoro Stadium.

The released amount is Rwf 23,954 less than the original Rwf 300,000.
Sherman said the disagreement was not about accountability but his relationship with the fan base leadership.
“The issue was never about accountability; it was about my lack of trust in the leadership.”

The development follows a period of heated engagement within the Liberian community and media scrutiny over the handling of the funds.

Liberia will face Rwanda on September 25 in a Group K qualifier for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

KIGALI, RWANDA — September 19, 2026: The leadership of the Liberia National Football Fan Base Association–Rwanda Chapter has issued an official statement addressing allegations surrounding US$200 reportedly sent by Activist Martin N.K. Kollie to support Liberian students and community members in Rwanda.

According to the statement released by the Fan Base leadership, the organization had previously communicated with Activist Kollie requesting financial assistance to support Liberians in Rwanda.

The leadership says Kollie subsequently transferred US$200 directly to Mr. McAnthony Sherman, identified in the statement as a senior member of the Fan Base and President of the FC Fassell Fan Club.

The leadership maintains that the funds were received by Sherman without its knowledge or consent and alleges that the money was subsequently used for personal benefit.

Following what the leadership describes as misconduct, the statement announces that Mr. McAnthony Sherman has been suspended indefinitely from all activities of the Liberia National Football Fan Base Association–Rwanda Chapter.

The leadership also rejected circulating claims that the Fan Base leadership itself misappropriated the US$200, describing those claims as false.

The development comes amid growing public discussion within the Liberian community in Rwanda concerning the handling and accountability of funds intended to support Liberians attending national-team activities.

KIGALI, RWANDA — A growing controversy has erupted within the Liberia National Football Fan Base Association–Rwanda Chapter, following allegations surrounding US$200 reportedly sent by Martin Kollie to facilitate the purchase of match tickets for more than 50 Liberians expected to attend the upcoming Rwanda vs Liberia encounter.

According to information reaching us, the money was reportedly received two days ago by Mr. Tension McAnthony Sherman, identified as the association's chief financier, with the stated purpose of securing tickets for Liberian supporters.

Sources familiar with the matter allege that, when contacted by other leaders of the Liberia National Football Fan Base Association–Rwanda Chapter, Mr. Sherman acknowledged using the money to address personal problems.

However, concerns are now being raised by Liberian students and members of the Liberian community in Rwanda, as questions remain over the whereabouts and use of the funds and whether the planned tickets will actually be secured ahead of the highly anticipated match.

That claim has reportedly intensified calls for clarity, accountability, and an immediate explanation to the people who were expecting the funds to be used for tickets.

🚨BREAKING NEWS | PSA RESPONDS TO LIBCOR ARBITRATION COMMITTEE’S DECISION ON UNILAK–KIGALI ELECTIONS

KIGALI, RWANDA — September 18, 2026:
The Progressive Students Alliance (PSA), UNILAK–Kigali Chapter, has issued a formal press statement following the decision and order of the LIBCOR Arbitration Committee concerning the ongoing UNILAK–Kigali Chapter electoral process.

In its statement issued and signed by the secretary General of the party D. Darlington Nyanti, PSA says it welcomes the Committee’s decision, describing it as a step toward restoring order, transparency, accountability and due process in the election process.

The party further states that its concerns were centered on the conduct of the electoral process and calls on students, stakeholders and members of the UNILAK community to support the implementation of the Committee’s decision and participate in a peaceful and transparent process under LIBCOR supervision.
