etZero Z4 could change the future of air travel

US aerospace company JetZero is developing the Z4, a passenger aircraft built around a blended-wing body design that combines the cabin and wings into one structure.

The aircraft could carry about 250 passengers while using less fuel and offering a wider cabin with four aisles.

A full-scale test aircraft could fly by late 2027, with passenger operations potentially beginning in the early 2030s.

Ferrari’s first fully electric car makes history

Ferrari Luce “Chassis 0” has sold for a record $40 million at auction during Monterey Car Week in California.

The special electric Ferrari sold about 36 times above its initial $1.1 million estimate, with proceeds going to The Ferrari Foundation to support education programmes.

Ferrari plans to begin deliveries of regular Luce models in the fourth quarter of 2026.

China is making progress on technology that could help some blind people regain limited vision.

Researchers have developed an experimental retinal brain-computer interface that converts camera images into electrical signals sent to the brain.

Two patients in China have reportedly regained limited visual abilities after receiving the technology and undergoing training.

The system does not restore normal eyesight yet, but researchers believe it could eventually help some people with damaged retinas recognize shapes, obstacles and basic directions.

Sony and TSMC are planning a $6.32 billion chip investment in Japan.

The two technology giants plan to establish a joint venture and build a semiconductor manufacturing facility in Kumamoto, southern Japan.

Sony is expected to hold 60% of the venture, while TSMC will own 40%. Production could begin in 2029, with the facility focusing on chips used in image-sensing technologies.

The project also reflects Japan's efforts to strengthen its domestic semiconductor supply chain.
