Voices of the young.

As the generation that was born after 1994 genocide, our lives were forever changed by the genocide. All of us are victims of something that none of us created but nevertheless we can choose to be prisoners of that history and always refer to ourselves to it or take a stand and ensure history doesn't repeat itsef. We weren’t there but here we are today!

This conversation was recorded on 13th April 2019 in the event called Ku Gicaniro curated by PLP held at the KGM. Contributors are Ganza Moise, Busoro Honore, Ikuzo Neige Tresor, Gatesi Emma Belyse, Mutsinzi Aziz and Jean Michel Habineza.

The idea of Ku gicaniro was conceived in an effort of having young people actively involved in fighting genocide ideology, even at a personal/family levels, re-affirming their true identities as Rwandans and finally take the first step to sustain and communicate unity and reconciliation.

As we remember every year we commit to ensure that the legacy of hatred is stopped and the history shall not repeat itself. https://bit.ly/3c5qXMk

As we are preparing for the 25th commemoration of over one millions lives lost in the 1994 genocide, we aim at bringing together young people from different walks of life, different backgrounds and different beliefs to renew their commitment in the ongoing campaign of Never again. We want to collect one million hand prints of one million young people committed to fight genocide and any mass atrocities and ready to be the hope of the survivor. We want to send out a message that our country lost one millions lives but there are one millions hands ready to fill the gap and work for a future free from any kind of discrimination.
