The Rwanda Media Commission (RMC) is established pursuant to Media Law No 02/2013 of 08/02/2013 that provides for the creation of media Self-regulatory body, determining its mandate and functions and legally empowering journalists to, in practice, consent to its establishment. RMC aims to develop a consensual view of the importance of promoting, nurturing and protecting ethical practices in the m

edia profession and voluntary adherence to them. In this sense, its mode of operation is not to act as policeman but voluntary adherence to its authority and decisions.

Today, in collaboration with The Legal Aid Forum Rwanda ,we commenced a two-day training workshop for journalists to enhance their understanding of the UPR mechanism and strengthen human rights reporting in line with Rwanda's fourth-cycle commitments.

The training is designed to equip journalists with the knowledge and skills they need not only to understand the aspects of the UPR process but also to translate its outcomes into compelling, accessible, and impactful stories for the Rwandan public.

Urwego rw'Abanyamakuru Bigenzura (RMC) rwashimiye Musangamfura Christian Lorenzo, na Rugaju Reagan bahisemo inzira y’ibiganiro, ubwumvikane n’ubuhuza, mu gukemura amakimbirane bagiranye mu bihe bitambutse, akagaragara no mu ruhame.

RMC ivuga ko iyi ari intambwe ishimishije kandi ishimangira ubunyamwuga, kwiyubaha ndetse no guharanira ishema n’icyizere abaturage bafitiye itangazamakuru.

RMC irasaba abanyamakuru kwirinda gukoresha umuyoboro w’igitingazamakuru cyangwa imbuga nkoranyambaga zabo bwite nk’igikoresho cyo kwihimura kubo mufitanye ibibazo.

Yakomeje igira iti: "Tuboneyeho gushishikariza abakora umwuga w’itangazamakuru bose gukomeza kwimakaza imyitwarire iboneye, kubahana, no kwihutira gukemura amakimbirane mu nzira y’amahoro."
