The context of this hadith is the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, a moment of immense difficulty for the early Muslims.

They had traveled with the Prophet ﷺ with the peaceful intention of performing Umrah (pilgrimage).

Instead, they were blocked by the Quraysh of Makkah and forced into a treaty that seemed heavily biased against the Muslims. They were denied entry and had to return home, feeling a sense of profound humiliation and frustration.

The great Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA) was so distressed that he went to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and expressed his confusion. He asked, "Are we not upon the truth and our enemies upon falsehood?"
meaning, why would Allah allow the truth to appear weak?

With the calm reassurance of Prophethood, Muhammad ﷺ answered simply, "I am Allah's Messenger and I do not disobey Him, and He will make me victorious."

This was a test of absolute trust in Allah's plan, even when human logic couldn't see the path forward. The treaty, which seemed a defeat, actually opened doors for mass conversion and led to the eventual victory of Islam.

Lesson:
Trust in Allah's decree is paramount, especially during times of apparent defeat or humiliation. True victory lies in obedience to the Messenger ﷺ, as Allah's wisdom often works in mysterious ways.

🕋 EPISODE 033 — "And Shun All Impurity"

In Surah Al-Muddaththir (74:5), Allah instructed Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, to reject idolatry and every form of spiritual impurity.
